Kylie Jenner’s Final Halloween Look Was Marilyn Monroe For V Magazine

As CVS cedes its candy aisles to garland and glitter, the last vestiges of slut season draw to a close. Kylie Jenner already nailed her looks for the season by dressing up as a Playboy Bunny on Monday, and as Ariel: After Hours on Wednesday. Come Thursday there was nothing left for her to do other than the obvious: Desecrate the memory of Marilyn Monroe. Kylie’s final Halloween costume was a recreation of Marilyn’s Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend look from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Not to get too Chris Crocker on a Friday morning, but LEAVE NORMA JEAN ALONE!!!

Of course Kylie wasn’t able to pull this off by herself. V Magazine held the hammer that drove the final nail in Marilyn’s coffin. According to People:

Wearing a sultry strapless silk gown with an oversized bow in the back and arm-length gloves made from the same material, Jenner looked just like Monroe as she posted for a Halloween shoot with V Magazine. “Diamonds are a girls best friend…” the star wrote on Instagram as she unveiled multiple photos of the look, which was complete with tons of layered diamond necklaces and bracelets, plus dramatic diamond drop earrings.

I’ll eat my left foot if Kylie has ever seen Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I’ll eat the right one too if she’s ever seen a single MM movie. Kylie has two faces she makes. One is “lips together, eyes (dead) to the side” and the other is “lips slightly parted, eyes (also dead) to the side”. Neither of them evoke anything having to do with MM. Not that it matters, Kylie probably thinks Marilyn got the idea from Madonna.

Well, she looks like she knows her way around a barbiturate. I’ll give her that. But Elton John needs to re-release Candle In The Wind with Cardi B spitting some new verses on it or something because the girls just aren’t getting it. Something like “yo, yo, yo, beware the male gaze, Hollywood be crazy ya’ll, fame don’t pay!” That was just off the top of my head guys, I’m sure Elton and Cardi could come up with something better.

Jenner and her stylist Jill Jacobs thought it “would be so fun to dress up as a moment in pop culture history,” so they had designer Alejandro Peraza of Alejandro Collection create a near-perfect replica of the pink William Travilla gown that Monroe wore in the 1953 film.

“Kylie is the girl who has it all, and so it is befitting of her to dress up as an icon like Marilyn. Kylie knows better than anyone that diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” Peraza tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Ok but the song is about securing a bag, by hook or by crook, but mostly by hook, before your body turns into a dump truck. So in a way, I guess it does make sense here.
