Emilia Clarke Says That Conleth Hill Was The One Who Left That Coffee Cup In Frame During The Final Season Of “Game Of Thrones”

Game Of Thrones had a messy final season. Fans hated the final it. There were episodes so dark people were like, “Um I’m trying to watch a show about a medieval type world without electricity–I don’t want to live in one.” People’s hands were just growing back willy-nilly. And probably the most infamous fuck up was the coffee cup.

Queen of Dragons, Emilia Clarke, took the blame for it since she was the one who was nearby the cup, but she was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and cleared her name! ‘Twas not her who left the cup!

When Sophie Turner was on with Jimmy last, she pointed the finger at Emilia for leaving a Starbucks cup in in the camera shot, because she was the one it happened to be in front of. Which is like: wow jumping to conclusions, much? Well Emilia was there to let the world know that Sophie may be married to the second-hottest Jonas Brother but she is not all-knowing.

Page Six says Emilia told Jimmy she herself had learned who the culprit was through careful deduction and investigative practices. …Well the person got drunk at an Emmy’s party and told her. It was Conleth Hill! She told Jimmy:

“We had like a party before the Emmys recently, and Conleth Hill, who plays Varys, who’s sitting next to me in that scene, he pulls me aside and he’s like, “Emilia, I’ve got to tell you something. I’ve got to tell you something, love. The coffee cup was mine!” It was his! It was Conleth’s coffee cup. He said so! He’s like, “I think so, I’m sorry, darling, I didn’t want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you.”

I mean, if someone else is getting shit on, why offer up yourself? Especially when the fans get so heated they make petitions and shit? Who wants to get death threats from rabid Game Of Thrones fans over a venti pumpkin spice? Fraught times we live in–you’ll get death threats over anything.

Here’s Emilia on The Tonight Show:
