Iggy Azalea Is Not Happy About T.I. Saying That She Switched It Up For White People

I don’t know why rapper T.I. has decided to start shitting on Iggy Azalea like it’s 2015, but here we are. Whatever has sparked T.I.’s ire is still in full-effect and he decided to drag her some more while appearing on The Breakfast Club. T.I. previously called her the “blunder” of his career. Which is nice, considering the gun charges that have kept him out of foreign countries during his career. Well now he’s slapping at her some more, claiming she had a lot of help writing her songs and that she really switched up her vibe when white people started paying attention.

The Fader says that T.I. started by saying that he didn’t mean to go in on Iggy like that and had no intention to “speak down” to her. But T.I. was just speaking “his truth” and continued so, suggesting her overexposure helped lead to their break up:

“As far as I’m concerned, I feel like when she found out white people liked her and she didn’t really need black people to like her anymore, she switched up, started acting different, made moves that I wasn’t proud of, that kind of placed my reputation in the line of fire. And she was very arrogant about it… The raps were dope at first… Of course, she had…help… It could have been so [much] bigger.”

So Iggy responded to this in a series of tweets that she deleted.

Iggy first asked, “When will this guy shut up?” and said the only song he worked with her on was “100″. She said that it pisses her off when T.I. tries to claim he made her successful but yet didn’t do much for her.

She said T.I. was “speaking out of his asshole” and should shut it:

“Keep it pushing sweetie & worry about what your next story line is for family hustle.”

She begged T.I. to:

“Please move on and speak about artist[s] you are (hopefully) actually helping, and stop trying to bring me up for relevance. I don’t bring your ass up, NO ONE is asking about you. I’m tryna be nice because I genuinely have better and more interesting things happening…”

Bringing up Iggy Azalea for relevance? She just said you’re the same level as Cash Me Ousside Girl. Yikes.

She also slapped down the ghost writer suggestion saying that the records show what they show: she’s had help on her pop-leaning tracks because that’s pop music (simple lyrics with 100 writers) and that she’s had help with her other songs but she did most of the work.

“Look at the pub credits. It’s public information.”

But a ghost writer would not be in the credits, Iggy.

Here’s a summation of the full thing if you want to experience if for yourself:

So this is really a weird feud for 2019. But listen, I don’t know why T.I. is mad at Iggy Azalea for making white people rap music. I mean, culturally appropriating white people is totally subjective.
