Chelsea Clinton Has Thoughts On Jay-Z’s Response To Beyoncé’s Post-Twins Body

It remains to be seen whether Beyoncé is currently pregnant with the next in line for cultural icon status. But this story is about what happened after Beyoncé gave birth twins, Rumi and Sir Carter. Specifically, we’re dealing with Chelsea Clinton’s experience with what happened. Jay-Z, if you’re listening, please pay attention: Chelsea was not impressed at your lack of excitement for Beyoncé when she squeezed her post-twins body into a performance costume.

In case you haven’t seen Homecoming on Netflix, it’s a documentary directed by Beyoncé herself about the year leading up to her 2018 Coachella performance. Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s twins were born in June 2017. So naturally, Beyoncé’s “return” to her life as an entertainer is a big theme. Beyoncé explained in Homecoming that she weighed 218 lbs when she gave birth to her twins, and that in order to get her body performance-ready again, she had to put herself on a serious diet of nothing delicious.

When she finally had her first fitting for her Coachella performance, Beyoncé was very excited to learn that she could fit into one of her pre-pregnancy costumes. All she wanted to do was tell Jay-Z her great news. So she FaceTimed with Jay-Z, who responded with the kind of “All right!” that is usually reserved for a kid who has asked you to watch them do a cannonball eight hundred times.

When Chelsea watched Homecoming, she was expecting Jay-Z to scream with so much excitement, that he could temporarily pass for Kathleen Turner’s voice double. But that didn’t happen, and Chelsea was shocked and appalled! Chelsea – who was pregnant with her third child during her Homecoming viewing experience – recently spoke to The Cut, and had this to say:

“I said, ‘Marc, if that’s ever me, you better have more enthusiasm.’ It wasn’t the ‘I’m so proud of you. That’s amazing’ that I arguably think any woman deserves, particularly someone who has clearly worked herself body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit to get to that place. Marc was like, ‘Duly noted.’

I was like, ‘I bet every woman watching this has this sense of she deserves more enthusiasm.’ Marc was like, ‘I got it. Can we go back to watching it, please? We’ve talked about it three times in the last 90 seconds.'”

Marc’s supportive husband stakes aren’t nearly as high as Jay-Z’s. Chelsea probably doesn’t have to eat nothing but dried spinach in order to squeeze into a costume for Coachella. But it’s good that he knows what level he should be operating at the next time Chelsea tries on a pair of pants from last year and announced that she’s 98% sure she has successfully gotten the top button done up.
