Lady Gaga’s Golden Globes Dress Will Hit The Auction Block After It Was Either Stolen Or Left Behind
Remember that huge periwinkle Valentino dress she wore to the 2019 Golden Globes? The one that could be seen from space and used to cushion the fall of people leaping from a fire? Well apparently it’s about to hit the auction block. TMZ says that a housekeeper from the Beverly Hilton is claiming that the dress was given to her after being left in lost and found, and now she’s auctioning it off for some cash.
The housekeeper has worked at the Beverly Hilton for 24 years and always works the Golden Globes. This year, Gaga left her custom-made Valentino dress behind. The housekeeper wrote a note detailing how she came into possession of the dress, which sounds completely not-at-all sketchy. The housekeeper says that after she found the dress in the room, she took it to lost and found, where it remained unclaimed for a long time. When nobody claimed the dress, the hotel gave it to the housekeeper. Okay, so the hotel did not contact Lady Gaga’s people or Valentino ?! I mean… this is just implausible.
Bidding for the dress will start at $8,000 and is set to go down on Halloween. That’s if it even makes it to the auction block, because Valentino is pissed. Valentino thinks the dress was full-on stolen and they’ve either gone to police already or plan to knock on the LAPD’s door any minute now.
Silly housekeeper! She should have just enjoyed that dress herself before auctioning it off years later when nobody cares about it anymore. She could have worn it to a party and stunted on her friends. She could have taken Instagram pictures without her face, making people think it was a really good replica. Now she’s going to get arrested! For her sake, I hope some rabid overzealous Little Monster drains their parents 401k and tries to buy this off of her before the police show up.
