Prince Harry And Duchess Meghan Are Talking About Moving To Africa

Tom Bradby, the journalist who interviewed Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry for the ITV documentary Meghan & Harry: An African Journey chronicling their recent tour of Africa, says the couple seemed “bruised and vulnerable,” according to People. Tom said that Meghan and Harry’s unease with constantly being under scrutiny “built as the tour went on,” and that the couple were having a hard time keeping their emotions in check. Of course, one might argue that making a documentary about yourself is tantamount to sending scrutiny an open invitation to visit with a house key taped inside. Nevertheless, Meghan and Harry are using the doc to tell their side of the story, and according to Us Weekly, part of that story is they want to build a house in Africa to get away from it all.

Us reports that after a particularly rough year, Meghan and Harry are longing for a simpler life, away from the British press.

“After a miserable year in London, Harry and Meghan want to make Africa their home,” the insider tells Us. “The critics have made their lives ‘absolute hell’ and they’d get more privacy in Africa – they won’t be hounded by photographers around the clock.”

The source adds, “Harry wants to build a house in a secluded area so that Archie can grow up being surrounded by nature. And he wants to teach him to horse ride too.”

I guess Canada’s out. Maybe when they visited last, Meghan was getting triggered at seeing The Queen’s face every time she pulled out a $20. What?! You don’t think Meghan pays for her own lattes at Starbucks? Harry says he’s not sure where in Africa they would choose. Cape Town’s nice and all, but it might not be the look.

“I don’t know where we could live in Africa at the moment, we’ve just come from Cape Town,” Harry said. “That would be an amazing  place to be able to base ourselves. But with all the problems going on there … I don’t see how we’d be able to make as big a difference as we want to.”

Maybe they should just walk the earth like Caine from Kung Fu. That’s a romantic notion that might fit well with Meghan’s fairy tale fantasy. In the documentary, Meghan says she just wants people to focus on her and Harry’s love story. (via People):

Meghan shared that she hopes people will one day come to understand and focus on the love she and Harry share for one another.

“I would hope that people, the world, will get to the point where they just see us as a couple who’s in love, because I don’t wake up every day and identify as being anything other than who I’ve always been,” she told Bradby.

The royal mom continued: “It’s just, I’m Meghan and I’ve married this incredible man and this to me is just part of our love story.”

Meghan is finding out the hard-ish way, that marrying into the royal family ain’t all tiaras and throwing up House of Windsor gang signs (aka The Royal Wave). People are always going to be talking shit about you. Megan and Harry better hurry up and figure out if they’re in or they’re out pretty quickly though. According to Metro UK, The Queen has already removed their picture from the table in her “audience room” at Buckingham Palace. I guess if you don’t show that stiff upper lip, The Queen will throw you out on your squishy lower ass. Unless you’re her dear wittle baby boy Andrew of course!
