Suge Knight’s Life Story Is Now In The Hands Of Ray J And Nick Cannon

54-year-old rap mogul-turned-incarcerated murderer Suge Knight is scheduled to spend at least the next decade behind bars for the 2015 hit-and-run murder of Terry Carter. It’s hard to make money off your life when you’re only able to conduct business deals through a $0.25-per-minute payphone. Suge has passed such a lucrative money-making opportunity on to Ray J, who has the rights, and Nick Cannon, who will write the story. Smart call. Ray J does have notable success in the film industry.

Sources tell TMZ that Suge signed his life rights to Ray J with the expectation that Ray J will make good choices, and in turn, make Suge a bunch of money. Suge has reportedly known Ray J for years. He also trusts his judgement, and believes Ray J is good at business. Ray J has already gotten to work. A documentary on Suge Knight and Death Row Records is currently in production, as well as a project about Tupac Shakur. Maybe Suge Knight Jr. will graciously hook them up with the real Tupac?

There’s also talk that Ray J could facilitate the return of Death Row Records, but TMZ says it would involve a lot of investment interest. Owning Suge’s life rights means Ray J could literally monetize anything – Suge’s story, his likeness, whatever. Well, maybe they should pass on licensing his name to a chain of driving schools.

Ray J also currently runs a weed company, so he’s busy. Thankfully he can lean on Nick Cannon for help with bringing Suge’s life to life. Suge called up TMZ yesterday and he claims that her personally chose Nick Cannon to write Suge’s biography.

“Suge says he considers him one of the most respected people in Hollywood, and that’s why he’s trusting Nick with the monumental biography task.”

Nick has 25 writing credits on IMDb, but this would be his first biopic (if it gets turned into a movie or TV show) and his first biography (if it ends up being a book). But I think no matter where Suge’s story is headed, that Nick has an unenviable job. Because we all know what happens if you get on the wrong side of Suge Knight. And we also know that Suge is an awful person. So Nick is going to have to be extra creative with how truthful he gets with that story. Something tells me we’re going to “learn” that Suge only started Death Row Records in an attempt to raise enough money to keep the local orphanage/convent/puppy shelter from closing.
