Lady Gaga Is Reissuing Her 2013 Album “Artpop” Minus That R. Kelly Track
I know Lady Gaga really wishes we’d all forget about her infamous collaboration with the currently incarcerated “alleged” alleged pedophile Robert Sylvester Kelly. According to Rolling Stone, Gaga is surreptitiously reissuing physical copies of her 2013 album Artpop. The new issues are missing that tangy zip which was previously supplied by the track Do What U Want (With My Body) featuring Robert on booty rubs. It’s back to plain mayonnaise for this Oscar winner!
Rolling Stone reports:
The new vinyl and CD versions of Artpop are listed on Gaga’s website, due out November 11th, and both versions leave the single “Do What U Want” off the tracklist. An older vinyl version of Artpop that includes “Do What U Want” is still featured on the website, but is listed as “sold out.”
It’s unclear if she actually pulled those older versions or if they really did sell out. Yahoo! News reports that soon after Gaga finally issued a statement explaining her regret at having collaborated with Robert, online sales of DWYW(WMB) surged “13,720 percent” which isn’t even a thing I knew was mathematically possible! And here I am getting annoyed when people say they’ve given something “110%.” That surge predated Robert’s incarceration, which is a shame. That money probably could have kept him in Cup-O-Noodles and canteen ketchup packets for weeks! Now he’s going to have to eat dirt (don’t feel bad, plenty collects under his fingernails. He’s going to be OK).
Gaga already swore to remove the version of the track with Robert on it (there’s a less rapey version featuring Christina Aguilera) from all streaming platforms. And the official music video and painful to watch live American Music Awards performance where Robert dry humps Gaga on the desk of an Oval Office set, have been removed from YouTube. But as we know, the internet never forgets. Gaga can scrub and scrub as hard as she wants, but there’s always going to be a ghost stain that never comes out.
