Gina Rodriguez Apologizes Again For Using The N-Word, This Time Turning On The Emotion
Gina Rodriguez found out that her saying the N-word, in any context even while rapping to a Fugees song, isn’t a good idea, and neither is giving a shitty and smug apology where you look like you’re pissed about having to apologize for saying the N-word and play the always popular “I’m sorry you were offended” move. Although, Gina is almost black herself so maybe we’re being too harsh? But since her first apology came off about as sincere as someone who had a gun held to their head, and since Gina wants to keep her career, she’s now trying it again.
Gina went back to the scene of the crime Instagram (where the comments were disabled–gee wonder why?) and released an iOS press-release via her Notes app. Which shows she cares… about sounding like she cares. She knew her facial expressions and lack of emotion would give her away, but a written apology (with help from a publicist, I’m sure) always sounds emotional.
She once again blames it on the song (where the N-word is said one time in 4 minutes) and says that whatever consequences for this, the “personal remorse” she feels is worse. I think losing a Hollywood career is worse than your “personal remorse” since your personal remorse is equivalent to a ten-year-old in the principal’s office and you’ll forget about it after school. Here’s the full thing:
Gina, Gina, Gina, Gina, Gina… this is how I feel about racial slurs: If you feel you maybe aren’t sure if it’s appropriate to say–try not to. I don’t know many situations where you have to say the N-word–even in a song. It’s not hard, you just skip over it. Also again to point out, the N-word is used once in the song and you chose to post that specific line, so like… that’s not the song, that’s… you?
Even if people turn on her, Gina will always have fans and supporters, and what I’m saying is that she’ll probably end up on Ellen where the all-forgiving Ellen Degeneres will stroke her hair as she cries for the hate she’s gotten for saying the N-word.
