A Taylor Swift Banner Is Getting Censored For L.A. Kings Hockey Games Because Fans Think It’s Bad Luck

Ready for some shocking news? A bunch of hockey fans are not really into staring at a banner celebrating Taylor Swift anymore and want it gotten rid of. I know, shocking! Don’t the worlds of professional hockey and annoying dear diary love songs intersect?!!!

TMZ says that a banner celebrating Taylor Swift at the STAPLES Center will be covered up during the hockey games of the L.A. Kings because fans think that it’s bad luck.

The Kings made an announcement over the weekend that from here on out, if the Kings are playing at their home field–the STAPLES Center–then that shit needs to be covered the fuck up. The banner which hangs in the rafters next to Lakers banners and retired jerseys, will be censored with a black tarp during games. Taylor had sold out STAPLES for 16 straight shows, and this banner was a gift for all that white people revenue she brought in.

The L.A. Kings marketing department said that the fans were mad about it and they care about the fans more than Taylor Swift, sorry. The L.A. Kings’ Michael Altieri said:

“The connection to our fans is our highest priority and through our engagement they have made it clear that the banner shouldn’t be part of their Kings game experience… We didn’t see an issue in covering it for our games and in fact see it as an opportunity to show our fans that we hear them.”

Apart from any hatred of teen-pop music, the fans also think it’s a bad luck charm as the team hasn’t won a playoff series since 2015 when the banner went up. Which doesn’t necessarily makes sense unless the Lakers and Clippers also have bad luck since they also are based at The STAPLES Center. The Lakers are fine with it, but the Clippers have already been covering that shit up during their games. So maybe the Swift Curse is specific to certain teams?

Well listen, I’m sure Taylor will be very upset at this anti-basic white girl discrimination. She is going to write “L.A. Kings” in her Burn Book right next to Scooter Braun. They can expect a letter from her lawyers threatening them for discriminatory practices, and they can also expect a song on her next album: “Ice Cold Stick Up The Ass.”
