Lindsay Lohan Gets To Keep Her Job On “Masked Singer Australia” For One More Season
Despite Lindsay Lohan having no idea who any of Australia’s famous people are, she’s keeping her gig as a judge on Masked Singer Australia. People were very confused by the choice of Lindz but were amused by her complete inability to do her job–so much so, that she’s going to keep it and is confirmed to be back for season two.
News.Com.Au reports that unlike with Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, Lindsay’s paying gig on Masked Singer Australia is secure for at least another season. Channel 10’s chief content officer, Beverley McGarvey, said that she will be back as a judge next year:
“Despite what you may have read, we will have exactly the same judging line-up and exactly the same host. We’re thrilled that they’re all coming back and you know how these things work, the more that people get familiar with each other and familiar with everything it just gets better and better because they get more comfortable. The potential upside for us next year is really exciting.”
Apparently, the ratings for Masked Singer Australia keep slipping. People have complained that Lindsay ain’t the only one who doesn’t recognize the Masked celebs and have wondered why they haven’t managed to unmask many actually famous people:
Last night's ratings: a Tuesday night The Block on 897,000 beats The Masked Singer on 877,000. Has the novelty slightly worn off for Masked Singer? Or is it the lack of household names under the masks so far that have people tapping out?

Ratings for @maskedsinger_au are down. Is it because the 'celebs' have been… ahhh, how shall we say… underwhelming?

Beverly talked about this, saying that they probably won’t make any changes, except she makes it sound like they’re going to be scraping even lower at the bottom of their barrel getting people from “different industries“. Like Bob the Builder?
“The calibre of people we’ve got this year is probably where we’ll go. We spent a bit of time looking at the Fox version and talking to our colleagues in other markets and really what is important is when the masks come off, that you are impressed by something. Either you have to go, “Wow, I didn’t think that person would do that”, or, “I didn’t know they could sing”. Having watched, for example, a super, super famous person who can’t sing, it’s kinda just annoying because someone singing badly in an outfit is really just someone singing badly. I think that the ambition for us next year would be to cast it differently so that we were surprising people in different ways and that might be that some of them are more famous or some of them are from completely different industries.”
PopCulture says Lindsay has been really patting herself on the back for securing two consecutive years of paychecks and went on the Hughesy and Kate Show radio show to talk about it, teasing she may be bringing an American guest with her next time. Which is like, who? You can’t get Australian brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth to even talk to you, but you’re going to convince some A-list Hollywood-type to fly to Australia and guess people they’ve never heard of?
“For Season 2, I’m bringing an American with me… It was just a really good experience. It was welcoming and very warm… In America, everyone goes their own ways. But in Australia everyone gets to know each other. And you all stay as friends. And you create a bond with each other.”
You want me to believe for one-second that Lindsay Lohan–at the top of her career earning $7 million a movie–was chilling after hours with the other cast? Sure, Jan.
Lindsay also served us more “Sure, Jan” when she claimed she was not at all difficult on the show:
“People want to find the negative for no reason. There was nothing negative…”
But a source claimed different saying she was almost replaced by former contestant Kate Ceberano:
“She was tricky with demands and had a complete lack of respect for time schedules.”
A former contestant, Wendell Sailor, accidentally co-singed Lindz being a mess by jokingly telling a story of how they had to pause filming an hour for Lindsay to eat lunch:
“About a minute before I had to perform, they said, “Lindsay’s hungry, she’s going to have a break.” It was like an hour break! We were there for a while.”
Well congratulations staff at Masked Singer Australia! It’s been confirmed you have at least one more year of living through Lindsay Lohan faking an Australian accent when she makes her outrageous demands and takes a random hour lunch break one-second before filming starts. But that’s good–she’s teaching you to be spontaneous and malleable. Lindsay is helping you. God! People are always looking for the negative.
