Nick Carter Revealed His New Baby’s Name

October 9, 2019 / Posted by:

Nick Carter finally got around to announcing that his wife Lauren Kitt Carter had their second baby. For someone who practically has the press on speed-dial these days, Nick shocked the world by keeping the baby’s birth a secret for a whole week. And he didn’t even make the announcement through TMZ or Page Six or anything – he just threw up a picture on Instagram. AND! His new baby shares the same name as a multiple Oscar-nominated indie actress. Who is this Nick Carter, and why isn’t he posting, “Yeah boyeee, I straight-up just got another baby!” while eating wings from the hospital room on Snapchat?

After posting a picture of his new baby on Instagram three days ago, Nick posted another one with a caption thanking his wife Lauren, who had already been through one miscarriage in their attempt to give their 3-year-old son Odin a sibling. He also included a series of hashtags celebrating #freedom, #mommy, and #newbaby, as well as Baby’s First Official Hashtag, which tells us that Nick’s new baby is named Saoirse Reign Carter.

To my incredibly strong wife…For 2 years I watched you endure some of the hardest things a husband could ever witness. Going through the ups and downs of pregnancy all in the hopes that just maybe, with a little help from up above, we would get to this point. I’ll never forget the moment You asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said nothing. But deep down inside I knew what I really wanted. So on January 28th 2019 when I walked out of that bathroom with that positive test I already knew that Saoirse was coming back to us. I just want to thank you for giving me the Life, Love and family that I always wanted. You are a true Warrior and I love you. #mommy #freedom #newbaby #saoirse #saoirsereigncarter #family

So clearly, Nick and Lauren were planning on naming their baby Saoirse, which they sadly lost, but came back to them (according to Nick). As for the name, Nick doesn’t explain how they settled on Saoirse. The most famous Saoirse, and I would argue the only Saoirse most of us know, is Saoirse Ronan.

Just to note, neither Nick or Lauren are from Ireland, and Saoirse is not a common name over here in North America. So the best of luck to little Saoirse Reign, who will spend a lot of time telling people that it’s not pronounced Say-oh-reese. But despite that lifelong headache, having a complicated name will work out in her favor. A tricky spelling means is like built-in identity theft protection. Because you just never know if Uncle Aaron Carter will get any shady, fraudulent ideas and try to take out a credit card in her name to pay for his next round of tattoo work.
