Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, And Laura Dern Will Be In “Jurassic World 3”

I actually enjoyed the first Jurassic World movie. Don’t tell me I have “bad” taste in movies–I’m fully aware. But even I, who can find enjoyment in most B-grade action movies, thought the second one, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was trash. Like, what was the point? Selling… dinosaurs at auction? For… what reason again besides money? I forget! Yeah, not the best, but it made over $1.3 billion worldwide, so of course a third movie is coming. But this one may actually be good, because it will star OG Jurassic Park legends Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum.

Deadline reports that the gang’s all here! Universal Pictures is really trying to make as much money as possible. They’re hoping the theme of nostalgia, which has seemed to fuel every single one of Hollywood’s decisions in recent memory, pays off.

In the original, Laura played Dr. Ellie Sattler, Neill was Dr. Alan Grant, and Jeff was the studly Ian Malcolm. Deadline’s sources claim these guys are going to star alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, so potentially they’ll be main characters? Here’s hoping! The last movie ended with dinosaurs getting loose in the normal world so maybe they’ll be like the grizzled professionals who’ve “done this before”. I see it.

Colin Trevorrow is directing the movie and the announcement was made by Laura at a premiere of Colin’s short film: Battle At Big Rock.

I think this will be a success to be honest. First of all, Jeff Goldblum? People love him! He’s wacky and delightful! And Laura-Big Little Lies-Dern? The gays are going to tune in just to see if there’s a part where she beats a dinosaur to death with a baseball bat, ALONE. This sounds like a win to me!

Here’s the short film by Colin:
