Who knew that when Ben Stiller and his wife of 17 years Christine Taylor separated in 2017, we might have been justified in giving the news one of Christine’s signature “Sure, Jan”s. After all, one doesn’t throw out nearly 20 years of experience figuring out exactly which buttons to push during a fight lightly. So it’s maybe not so surprising that Ben and Christine were each others date at last night’s Emmy Awards. And according to People, they have recently been doing other things together as well, both with and without their kids, daughter Ella Olivia, 17, and son Quinlin Dempsey, 14. Why, it’s almost as if there are two adult people in Hollywood walking around just being a normal ass family. The fuck?
The actor and comedian, 53, walked the red carpet on Sunday with Taylor, 48. The two looked very happy together as they posed for photographs.
Though they said they were separating in 2017, Stiller and Taylor have been spotted together repeatedly, including with their children.
The two were photographed together in April while with their kids at the Pretty Woman: The Musical on Broadway in New York City.
“It was a sweet family night out,” an onlooker told PEOPLE then. “The kids were glowing because they all love the theater, and Ben and Christine looked happy together, smiling and laughing and holding hands, especially during intermission. They seemed to really love the show and being around one another.”
I guess since it’s been 2 years and they haven’t filed for divorce yet, and the fact that Ben and Chirstine don’t communicate solely through terse text messages and instructing the kids to “tell your mother/father…”, people have speculated that they’re back together. Last year, when they attended an ALS benefit together, somebody asked Christine flat out if she and Ben were back together. She came through with some of that patented Marcia Brady shade (via US Weekly):
When asked if she was back together with the Meet the Parents star, Taylor told Us Weekly exclusively, “We’re a big family. We’re together all the time.”
Christine’s hilarious and a total pro. I kind of wouldn’t mind a Ben Stiller Show reunion with Christine replacing Andy Dick. They could get Janeane Garofalo and Bob Odenkirk back, and let the quadruple rumors fly!
