“Saturday Night Live” Has Washed Its Hands Of Shane Gillis

September 16, 2019 / Posted by:

Well, I’ve got some good news for you. You can now go back to forgetting the name Shane Gillis. Because Shane Gillis has gone from one of the newest Saturday Night Live cast members to newly unemployed. SNL announced that Shane Gillis is now SOL because he’s not going to be a cast member anymore.

On September 12, Shane Gillis was announced as a new SNL featured player along with Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang, the show’s first ever East Asian cast member. Exactly one second later, Shane’s big break was drowned out by a chunky river of racism that was spewed out of his own mouth on a podcast episode just last year. While talking with his podcast so-host, Matt McCusker, about how disgusting they find Chinatown, Shane called Chinese people “chinks” and made fun of the Chinese accent. That was just the tip of the turdberg, and the internet brought out proof of Shane spewing out other shit. One club in Philadelphia, where Shane’s from, said that he had been banned because of the racist, sexist, and homophobic things he’s said on and off stage.

Shane gave the non-apology of non-apologies, basically saying that he’s an ~eDgy~ comedian who pushes boundaries and he’s sorry if you were offended.

Since the internet found the clips that got Shane fired pretty easily, you’d think that NBC would easily find them too. But in a statement to Variety, a rep for Lorne Michaels claims that they didn’t catch those clips from last year during their “vetting process.

“After talking with Shane Gillis, we have decided that he will not be joining ‘SNL.’ We want SNL to have a variety of voices and points of view within the show, and we hired Shane on the strength of his talent as comedian and his impressive audition for SNL. We were not aware of his prior remarks that have surfaced over the past few days. The language he used is offensive, hurtful and unacceptable. We are sorry that we did not see these clips earlier, and that our vetting process was not up to our standard.”

Why do I have a feeling that Megyn Kelly wasn’t really fired from NBC? They just relocated her to NBC’s vetting department.

Carla Waldman’s American second cousin continued to prove that he’s shit when it comes to writing statements by burping this out about his firing:

Look at Shane writing “that can’t be taken away” right after it was taken away. I know everyone’s been saying that Shane isn’t funny, but he proved everyone wrong with that hilarious shit!

I’m pretty surprised that Lorne Michaels made this decision. I would think that he’d reach out to the Asian community for their thoughts, and by that I mean ask the Asian girlfriend of one of SNL’s cast members. And we all know that Scarlett Johansson wouldn’t think Shane should get fired. She’s a forgiving soul like that. Shane’s going to be fine, though. I’m sure he’ll soon get a Netflix special called: WHAT HAPPENED TO FREE SPEECH!!!11!!: Live From Chinatown.
