Ashanti Got Body-Shamed For The Megan Thee Stallion Cosplay She Wore For A Performance
I realize that Halloween is quickly approaching, and after the long, balmy Hot Girl Summer, I can only imagine how many women will be quick to throw on ass-less chaps and tight titty tops to recreate the magic that is Megan Thee Stallion as their costume of choice. Apparently, Ashanti‘s calendar app must be broken, because she must think it’s already time to break out her costume. And one Twitter user immediately pulled out the shame bell to let Ashanti know that this ain’t the look for her. However, Ashanti’s fans aren’t here for any of that mess. And they immediately came to her defense.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, at a performance at the PrettyLittleThing x Saweetieduring show during New York Fashion Week, Ashanti wanted to let everyone know she’s still got it by bussing it wide and belting it out in a stripper cowgirl look. Honestly it looked like she grabbed a few pieces of Spandex snakeskin, some string and told her stylist, “Go Nuts Bitch!“, because the outfit left very little to the imagination. That is, until she decided to get low with it, revealing an area of her body that should only be viewed by whoever gets to take the Downtown Direct Ashanti Express. This is when a Twitter user let Ashanti know that everything about her look was just wrong.

I’m not sure what kind of reaction she was hoping to get from her tweet, but the one she received probably made her reconsider posting it in the first place. Because instead of people turning their noses up and agreeing with her, they automatically let @vuhsechi know that SHE was the foolish one.
Many were quick to point out that what she was being roasted for is actually natural and many people have that very same feature. Her fans praised the singer for being comfortable enough in her own skin and showing off every single part of her body, even if it isn’t “perfect.”

Listen, I get why everyone is coming to Ashanti’s defense because nobody should be called out for something they have no control over. However, this outfit has got to go. And not because she can’t pull it off, but because it makes her look like she’s trying out for a rebooted version of Hee Haw that takes place exclusively in strip clubs. And I can already see this outfit belonging to one of the dancers famously known as the Champagne Room Cowgirl.
