This Canadian pole!

If you’re a regular driver of a car, then there’s a good chance you’ve come across a jaywalker or two, or a million if you live in a big city. And there’s a few types of jaywalkers. There’s the kind of jaywalker, which I am, that quickly walk across the street, and when they see a car speeding toward them, they do the “bitch, my deductible is too high to get hit by a car” Usain Bolt sprint to safety. There’s the jaywalker who carefully and slowly pulls one foot off the sidewalk and onto the street before swiftly taking it back after spotting a car 5 miles in the distance. And then, there’s the jaywalker, who obviously has good insurance (or universal healthcare, in this case), and will take their damn time jaywalking across the street, and will even throw you a level 10 scowl if your car gets near them. That’s what happened in this case, only the jaywalker was quickly punished by a pole (which sounds sexy to me, but isn’t in this situation).

According to HuffPo, the footage from June 30 of this year, was recorded in Hamilton, Ontario. After making a left turn, the driver rode up on a jaywalker who was doing the Don’t Give A Fuck shuffle across the street, and tried to burn the driver’s windshield through his sunglasses-covered eyes for even thinking about being pissed. But one Canadian street pole had the driver’s back and delivered an instant punishment by existing.

If you can’t watch the video (and the driver pour salt on that head wound by honking at a trick), roll that beautiful bean footage:

Sure, this could be a staged anti-jaywalking PSA done by the City of Hamilton, but I’m still into it. Because it proves that poles have a better use other than being a utility necessity, and a urinal for dogs, and something for me to lean against when I’m drunk and waiting for a Lyft.
