Selma Blair recently shared a bottomless photo of her showing off her butt, bald head, and giant crotch crab (it’s a purse). All in all, it’s a cute photo showcasing a woman going through the horrors of MS with grace and some humor. Or in the eyes of internet trolls: AN ASSSQ

Selma Blair has been nothing short of refreshingly outspoken during her journey with multiple sclerosis. From sharing how the condition has affected her voice to candidly discussing the hair loss caused by MS, the actor has been poetic, humorous, and revealing. And in her latest Instagram post, Blair showed just how revealing she’s willing to be with a photo in which’s not wearing any pants or underwear.
Selma Blair is not going to let a little thing like MS or PANTS stop her from living her best life. I mean, I haven’t taken a butt shot and shared it with my 14 Instagram followers, but that’s mostly because I don’t want to clean the area near my mirror. Selma not only found a clean mirror spot, but also had a real photographer take the picture.
Shot by photographer Art T, the picture shows Blair looking in the mirror, her hand on her bald head. She’s wearing a pink and green tweed jacket by Thom Browne — and nothing else. Her bare butt, slightly out of focus, faces the camera, and in the mirror, we see she’s holding a deliberately positioned crab-shaped handbag, also by Thom Browne. “Portrait of a lady,” she wrote in the caption. But it’s also a portrait of confidence, style, and beauty.
Selma also got some blowback from internet because OF COURSE. Selma replied to the internet trolls.
Many of Blair’s nearly two million followers loved the unapologetically bold, chic image. But some commenters felt compelled to leave negative comments — many of which Blair herself replied to with characteristic sass.
“Wear your pants,” one commenter demanded, to which Blair responded, ” I don’t have any. Can you believe it! Minimalism 😂.” Another simply wrote, “Sorry unfollowing,” and Blair replied, “Is it something I said 😂?” When one person questioned the purpose of the photo beyond “shock factor,” Blair gave the perfect response: “I think it’s a vulnerable, humorous, odd and interesting fashion shot. I like it.”
Good for Selma! If Instagram influencers are taking butt shots at places like Chernobyl and every “fitness model” uses their body to sell some stupid product, then Selma is allowed to show her self any way she chooses. In fact Instagram should be only bottomless from now on. I’m talking to you only, Jason Momoa.
