Lana Del Rey Explains The Kanye West Lyric In Her Song “The Greatest”

If you’re a Lana Del Rey stan then you know that Lindsay Lohan is shook because the TRUE sleepy-voiced coma-inducing raspy-queen is back with a new album called Norman Fucking Rockwell. Lana’s new album is bringing you all the sleepytime yodeling you can expect to hear in the moors of Ireland when the fog is heavy and the laziest banshee around twirls herself around melodically while twenty tourist hipsters from Venice Beach chain smoke cigarettes on the tombstones nearby. But not just that–she also sort of drags Kanye West with whom she entered into a mild political feud over his support of Donald Trump.

W Magazine says that Lana Del Rey has hit Kanye with his own medicine name-dropping him in a song. Of course we know that Kanye West is Donald Trump’s favorite black ‘friend and that there is nothing but insane amounts of love between the two of them. Lana Del Rey thinks this is disgusting (same, Lana). She’s called out Kanye West for saying stupid shit from his overly-active mouth saying:

“Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support of him is a loss for the culture.”

And she further showed us that she’s no fan of Trump’s when she tried to save us with her magic. It seems the political drama rubbed off on Lana as a new lyric in her song The Greatest mentions Kanye West:

“Kanye West is blonde and gone.”

Lane spoke with The New York Times about the lyric and whether Kanye has spoken to her about it. Here’s what she said:

“No. Gratefully, no. Here’s the thing: I don’t want to elicit a response. You never feel better for having written something like that… But Kanye just means so much to us. And by the way, I’m grateful to be in a country where everyone can have their own political views. I’m really not more of a liberal than I am a Republican–I’m in the middle. But it was more like the mood and the vibe around, Yo, this man is the greatest! Really? The greatest? It hurt me. Did I have to say anything? No. But it’s more just a line that represents a lot of things.”

What a world. Lana Del Rey: witch singer about drug dealers, sex, and lesbianism, thinks that she’s politically “in the middle.” Okay, get those tax cuts! I’m not worried about Kanye’s response to this, Lana is a tough girl, she can handle herself:

Here’s her video for her single Doin’ Time where she plays a giantess who kills cheating boyfriends:
