A Man Is Suing After Being Run Over By A Legless Juggalo In A Golf Cart At The Insane Clown Posse Gathering

An Ohio man has broken section 6.9 of the Juggalo code by filing a lawsuit claiming he was hit by a golf cart driven by a legless man at this summer’s 20th annual Gathering of the Juggalos. Much like you don’t go to Coachella and sue because you got a sunburn and chlamydia, you don’t go to The Gathering and sue for getting run over by an allegedly intoxicated man barreling down a hill in a golf cart who is operating the pedals using a baseball bat. Because you absolutely, without a doubt, 100%, got what you asked for.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past 20 years, then you’re probably a Juggalo (Juggalos thrive in dark, damp places. They also have bong water for blood), so I don’t need to explain what one is. For the blissfully ignorant, a Juggalo is a follower of the rap group Insane Clown Posse. Every year their legions gather in the woods somewhere in the Midwest to do, whatever it is people still trying to figure out how magnets work, do (rigorous scientific research and lots of drugs). It’s usually a peaceful event but this year, somehow, someone got hurt.

According to Stereogum, the plaintiff is a non-juggalo named Adam Batton who was attending the 3-day event “intending to shoot a documentary”. He’s suing the organizers of the festival for injuries he received after being hit by a golf cart.

Adam Batton is suing Ninjas in Action, a Michigan group that was holding the 20th annual Gathering of the Juggalos, as well as the Lawrence County Recreational Park where the event was held July 31 to Aug. 3. He filed the suit against them for negligence in Indiana Superior Court on Aug. 28 because he says he sustained serious and permanent bodily injuries.

The suit alleges that the rules of the festival specifically prohibited “golf carts, four wheelers or motorized vehicles”. However, after the first day of the event, Adam saw that the prohibition was not being enforced, so he went to Walmart and bought himself a “small motorized bike”. Can’t say I blame him, imagine the bathrooms at Coachella. Now imagine no bathrooms at Coachella, just an empty field and no rules. My feet wouldn’t be touching the ground either. Not a worry though for Alexander “Less Legs” Perkins, the man who Adam says crashed into him.

At 1 a.m. on the final day of the festival, Batton said he was riding his bike between the “Bizzaro World” tent and the “Drainer Rd. Pavillon” when a golf cart with no headlights on began driving erratically down the hill towards him at a high speed. Batton names the driver of the golf cart as well known Juggalo Alexander “Less Legs” Perkins, saying Perkins crossed the center lane and crashed into him.

“Perkins was operating the golf cart peddles with a baseball bat, and after the collision it was apparent he was intoxicated on drugs and/or alcohol,” Batton’s lawsuit states.

This is Less Legs at The Gathering last year.

Luckily for Less Legs, he’s not named in this lawsuit. He spoke with TMZ and told them he had permission to drive a cart because of his leg count (zero), and that he was “stone-cold sober”. Fact: being sober at 1 AM on the final day of The Gathering is a violation of Juggalo code 6.9 (yes, all the codes are numbered 6.9).

Batton is seeking damages for loss of income and medical costs against the festival organizers and park officials for failure to take reasonable measures to protect his safety and failure to enforce festival rules.

Less Legs said he too was injured because he was ejected from the cart during the crash. Sounds like he might want to get in on this lawsuit. He’s already violated code 6.9, be might as well go all in and violate code 6.9 as well.
