Queerty says that if you got tickets to Madonna‘s first shows in her “intimate” Madame X Tour, which begins next month, you can shove those tickets right up your ass–because it ain’t happening. At least not for now, as it’s being reported that some of Madonna’s first shows have been postponed or canceled completely. The reason? The show is just too high tech and it’s not ready yet.
Fans, who apparently spent up to $2000 on a ticket, have been getting emails saying the tour’s opening night was postponed by five days. It was pushed from September 12 to September 17. So now the performances from September 13 and 14 were being moved to October and the September 15 show was just nixed completely. While Madonna is acting like offering refunds for these tickets is “good news” (you mean standard business practice?) people are pissed. They don’t care about the “highly specialized production elements” which are apparently holding this shit up–they care about their non-refundable plane tickets and hotel accommodations.
A statement from Madonna says:
“Madame X Is a perfectionist and wants to give you the most unique, magical, and musical experience. She underestimated the amount of time it would take to bring this kind of intimate theatrical experience to you and wants it to be perfect!!! Thank you so much for your understanding.”
Here are some Madonna fans being “understanding”:
@ThisIsBillG is dreaming of his 9/14 concert not to be postponed to 10/12 due to "highly specialized production elements being delayed". WTF?! You've had over 4 months to prepare for this!!! @ThePerezHilton @TMZ @TheShadeRoomm @JustJared @jimmyfallon @jimmykimmel

Hey @Madonna considering you’ve cancelled your appearance at my 30th birthday party in New York. Any chance you can send me a birthday card in the post? 😭

2 weeks before the show and she is changing everything??? That’s insane I cannot change my flight ticket and the hotel reservation. How can I get a refund for all my expenses?

.@Madonna cancelled the first 3 dates of the #MadameXTour in NYC…no postponement, just a cancellation for those of us w/ those tickets. Refund in 7-10 business days. Would be nice if she acknowledged it but her current tweets are about how she needs a day off 🙄

This isn’t super shocking since Madonna also postponed her last two tours and is known to be several hours late for performances. Can’t rush art… or all that hair and makeup and Botox!
Who knows how long these high-tech elements will take to perfect. Maybe they need to find more ethnic women to stand around her on-stage and they’re dealing with immigration hold-up stuff? Whatever it is hopefully it’s only these first shows and they don’t get anymore set-backs from the Technical Difficulties Gnome who plagued Nicki Minaj.
