Bethenny Frankel Is Sending A Supertanker Plane To The Amazon
Bethenny Frankel broke a billion hearts (okay, just mine) when she left The Real Housewives of New York City, and now she’s traded in battling dumpster fire humans to battling actual fires.
According to People:
The reality star, who recently announced her exit from The Real Housewives of New York, on Saturday announced her plans to send a supertanker plane to the area, and that she is strategizing other ways to help with the ongoing environmental crisis.
“Gearing up to attack the Amazon crisis,specifically saving the lives of indigenous tribes & animals,” she wrote in a tweet on Saturday. “Tomorrow I’ll get specific but,i’m chartering a full size supertanker(fire truck in a plane)to spray massive area. I’ll reach out w details for you to donate.Planning trip.#bstrong”
Too bad Bethenny is approximately 1,000 years too old for Leonardo DiCaprio. They could become a celebrity/philanthropy super couple since Leo’s foundation recently donated $5 million to help stop Amazon fires. Bethenny hasn’t stated how much she has given, but you know whatever she donates will have a Skinny Girl logo somewhere on it.
Later on Tuesday, Frankel shared a link to a CrowdRise campaign which revealed that teams from Frankel’s Strong disaster relief program had arrived in Bolivia on Monday.
“This effort is particularly challenging because chartering fire fighting planes presents unique logistical issues and is extremely expensive to do,” the campaign’s page says.
“Right now, Bolivia is ground zero for this emergency fire situation, so this is where we will stage our team to provide resources, fire fighting, and direct humanitarian aid,” the page continues. “Not only are these fires devastating plant and animal life, they are are also harming and displacing millions of people living in the area in already economically disadvantaged situations.”
Bethenny also took to Twitter to ask for help. No word if any of her former RHoNY cast mates have put down their Pino Grigios to donate, but hopefully a fundraiser at the Regency is in the works. They could auction off getting yelled at by a Housewife. I’m sure some sadomasochists would love to take a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to be berated by Ramona Singer.

Say what you will about Bethenny (and we all have!), but she has helped out the victims of the earthquake in Mexico, sent relief planes to Puerto Rico, and is now making moves to help the Amazon. At least one reality show mess is trying to do something.
