No, Mike Tyson Isn’t Smoking Up $40,000 Worth Of Weed A Month (So He Says)

Mike Tyson recently stated that he spends $40,000 on marijuana a month, which feels excessive, but I just used a Groupon for toilet paper, so what do I know about budgeting. Well, it turns out Mike Tyson is clarifying what he meant by spending $40,000 on weed and it’s not just going into his personal stash or for him and his pigeons (you know they smoke). Instead, $25,000 is actually for business promotion and the other $15,000 is for the 200 plus employees at his weed company Tyson Ranch.

According to Yahoo!:

Mike Tyson made headlines when he quipped about burning through $40,000 worth of marijuana per month, but it turns out The Champ isn’t smoking it all himself and instead using it to help drive productivity and business growth.

Sources close to Tyson Ranch tell The Blast, the former heavyweight champ definitely does smoke his fair share of marijuana while handling his booming cannabis empire, but some of the particulars were left out when he made the revelation on his podcast, “HotBoxin’ with Mike Tyson”.

First off, we’re told of the $40,000… at least $25,000 per month is earmarked for promotion and used for giveaway samples to those doing business with Tyson Ranch.

Turns out people working at the Tyson Ranch are pretty happy with their working conditions and OF COURSE THEY ARE, they are getting stoned all day, listening to Mike Tyson’s cartoonish voice, and staring at his face tattoo. Plus, I bet the break room has Mike Tyson’s Punch Out and endless Doritos.

The remaining, $15,000 of marijuana is for the 200+ employees currently working at Tyson Ranch.

We’re told even though pot is provided to the staff, they aren’t sitting around smoking pot on the job … and they’re actually excited to come to work.

Our source said that Tyson actually jokes about requiring mandatory drug tests for employees at Tyson Ranch … but only to ensure “everyone’s THC levels are high.”

We’re told the freebies for the staff have created — not only a relaxed environment — but a work culture of employees who arrive to work early and stay on the job late.

And if you’re wondering what Tyson Ranch is, it’s Mike’s weed company, which will include a giant weed resort in Desert Hot Springs, CA. Tyson Ranch should really cross promote with the Taco Bell Hotel and make every stoner’s dream come true.

The Ranch Companies Inc, the parent company of Tyson Ranch, purchased over 650 acres in the desert to build their oasis, which will feature a resort-style venue to encompass many aspects of cannabis.

The resort will include a luxury hotel, glamping tents, a gigantic lazy river and a big venue to host music festivals.

When called asked for comment, Tyson Ranch said they are a privately held company and do not discuss financial details.

So I guess it’s good the Mike Tyson clarified that he’s not spending $40,000 on his own personal consumption. He famously went bankrupt in the 2003 after making over $300 million in his career, so I bet hearing this news made his financial advisor (Scrooge McDuck) very nervous.
