Ben Affleck Will Probably Star In An Erotic Thriller With Ana de Armas

Director Adrian Lyne is set to direct his first film since 2002’s Unfaithful and it looks like Ben Affleck and his giant phoenix back tattoo are set to star in the erotic thriller. I mean Ben’s back is basically an erotic thriller on its own, right, so I’m glad it’s finally getting its chance to shine. Ana de Armas from Blade Runner is also in talks to star with Ben. Ben is 46 and Ana is 31, so we should give Hollywood the Nobel Peace Prize for not making a 20-something the love interest of a 40-something dude. PROGRESS!

According to Deadline:

In what is shaping up to be the first film he has directed since 2002’s Unfaithful, Adrian Lyne is eyeing a November production start on Deep Water, with Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck starring, and New Regency fully financing. Pending all the pieces falling into place, the plan is for the film to go through its deal with Fox/Disney.

I’m excited about Adrian’s comeback as I love all his movies (Indecent Proposal, Fatal Attraction, and 9 1/2 Weeks), and Ben playing a bored husband with side pieces shouldn’t be that much of a stretch for him.

Affleck and de Armas are in talks to play Vic and Melinda Van Allen, an attractive young married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead. The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it becomes messy as Highsmith exposed the surface facade of American suburban life.

And the good news for Ana is that it’s not going to take much for her to act like she’s bored with being married to Ben Affleck. A win for everyone!
