Prince Harry And Duchess Meghan Unfollowed Everyone On Instagram For Charity

Usually when a celebrity dramatically unfollows someone on social media, it can mean someone did someone else dirty in a very scandalous way, like stealing their man, or rumors of man-stealing. But according to E! News, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have unfollowed everyone the official Duke and Duchess of Sussex Instagram account was following, and it’s probably because of Meghan’s issue of British Vogue.

Meghan was the guest editor of the September issue of British Vogue. Meghan didn’t use her issue to talk about which expensive designer gowns are best wear while you scowl at your neighbors for daring to look at your dog (you know the British press was so pissed about that). Instead, she put the focus on 15 women who she believes are changing the world. Now Meghan and Harry’s IG account is doing the same. Yesterday, @sussexroyal posted the following explanation for why 9.2 million people were following them, while they were following zero people.

For the month of August we look to you for help. We want to know who YOUR Force for Change is…. Each month, we change the accounts we follow to highlight various causes, people or organisations doing amazing things for their communities and the world at large. Over the next few days please add your suggestions into the comments section: someone you look up to, the organisation doing amazing work that we should all be following, an account that inspires you to be and do better (or that simply makes you feel good), or the handle that brims with optimism for a brighter tomorrow. We will choose 15 accounts and follow them next Monday, as we spend the month of August acknowledging the Forces for Change in all of our lives.

So every month, Harry and Meghan will rotate the accounts their IG account will follow. August’s 15 choices will be a cause or a person doing “amazing things” for their community or the world, all of which will be chosen based on suggestions from their followers. I can already hear the British press now:

“Lazy Meghan and Harry can’t even be bothered to pick which accounts to follow on social media, outsource the job to commoners FOR FREE.“

It’s not known whether they’ll choose 15 accounts every month, or if it will be the same theme every month. Maybe for the month of October, they’ll ask for suggestions for scary creeps to follow. Thomas and Samantha Markle, now’s your chance to finally get noticed!
