Tituss Burgess Dragged Andy Cohen Some More To Wendy Williams
Tituss Burgess thought that Andy Cohen was too much of a “messy queen” so naturally his next step was to go somewhere much classier, dignified, and trained in the skill of interview. So Tituss sat down with the interviewer extraordinaire who has sat down with world leaders, and influential politicians, medical professionals who’ve worked in war-zones… JK he talked to Wendy Williams. Tituss appeared on Wendy’s show as a guest and I guess he liked her more, because I haven’t seen an angry Instagram post about her yet? Well Wendy is what I would call a “messy queen” also, and so she definitely asked Tituss about the Andy drama. And he had more to say.
People reports that Tituss continued to drag Andy Cohen for filth after he was displeased with his appearance on Watch What Happens Live! There was noticeable friction on Andy’s live show where celebrities are supposed to get drunk and talk shit. Since The Wendy Williams Show is essentially the same thing as Watch What Happens Live! except it’s twice as long, during the day and everyone is (hopefully) sober, Tituss was asked to talk about the “feud” with Andy.
Tituss started by saying he didn’t want to “waste time” talking about the past of a “comedic giant,” so it seems that Eddie Murphy shit really did rub Tituss the wrong way. Among the things Andy asked Tituss about which got his side-eye, one question was about AIDS jokes from Eddie’s 80s comedy career. The two worked on a new movie together: Dolemite Is My Name. Tituss then said:
“There’s a reason he wasn’t on your show for six years. I think people misinterpret who they see on the screen sometimes. And then begin to have a relationship towards you based on misinformation.”
Wendy asked Tituss to stop “being Hollywood” and mentioned his rant, which he said:
“Not a rant, just truth.”
Of course Wendy prodded him, and he eventually dove deep into his distaste for Andy’s interviewing tactics (AKA getting celebs to talk shit about each other):
“I will not tolerate the dismantling of anyone’s legacy, especially not my own. And who we were speaking about has done a beautiful job being the comedic giant that he is. And he has a wonderful movie coming out, and I was not going to participate in talking about that… I said what I said… Tituss will not be trapped. No. No. We have way too much work to do, we have far more important things to talk about in this nation right now, especially what is going on politically. So I wasn’t going to waste time digging up something that happened a while ago…. We’ve all moved past from it, and we’ve all learned from it.”
Andy was asked by Access Hollywood if he’s feuding with Burgess and Andy replied:
“He might be, I’m not.”
Andy’s got his hands full with feuds. Tituss also posted more to his Instagram to clarify how much he hates Andy Cohen’s tactics and how excited he is for his new movie:
“We all have pasts! The worst kind of human is a human that forgets they have one and proceeds to zero in on something you have moved on and learned from. I wanted no part of that. My future is bright and light is what I intend to bring. Hold on to your seats, cause the movie I got to make with a living legend is going to re-educate/remind and introduce to some in the world why Mr. Murphy is the true King of Comedy. I sat back and took copious notes while filming my first major motion picture. It’s an honor to be in a film making it’s Toronto Film Festival debut.”
Tituss really seems to be an Eddie Murphy fan-boy, huh? He’s about ready to storm the Bravo offices and toss around liquid while demanding that Andy apologize!
