Anne Hathaway Is Pregnant With Her Second Kid

Anne Hathaway announced on Instagram today that she and her husband of nearly seven years Adam Shulman are expecting their second kid. Congratulations on beating your brother to it first, Anne!

The first time Anne Hathaway was pregnant (with her three-year-old son Jonathan), Anne did everything she could to keep quiet about it, like holding purses and coats in front of her belly if she knew paps were around, and letting sources do the talking for her. This time, Anne just went ahead and posted a picture of her stomach on Instagram with the following caption:

“It’s not for a movie…⁣⁣#2⁣
⁣All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.”

I’m glad she explicitly stated that it’s not for a movie, because I might not have believed her. This is Anne Hathaway we’re talking about here. If Anne was going to drop the news herself on Instagram, I would expect nothing less than a technicolor choreographed number to the “Here comes mama!” part of Rose’s Turn performed with her dance partner, a Clear Blue pee stick.

Anne didn’t elaborate on how far along she is, but this will probably be one of the only pics of her second baby. Anne has stated in the past that she’s Instagrammed one and only one picture of her son, and that she regretted it. So we’ll probably never see Hathaway Baby #2 when he or she gets here.

At least Anne is lucky. She quit drinking long before she realized she was pregnant and had to quit. There’s really nothing worse than walking around on sore pregnancy ankles with an aching pregnancy back all day and thinking, “God, can I ever use a stiff drink…aw crap, no I can’t.
