The GoPro-stealing bald eagle!

As seagulls try to show the world that they’re the masterful thieves of birdmanity by snatching bread loaves (IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!!!) and $22 lobster rolls out of human hands (IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!!!), the bald eagles are laughing at those petty low-level bird thieves for stealing cheap shit. Because they’re stealing GoPros!

A fisherman named James Williams was finished fishing on a beach in Haida Gwaii in British Columbia, Canada, and decided to throw the local bald eagles a bone (or fish guts) before leaving. James set up his GoPro to watch the bald eagles eat up that fishiness, and one of them “accidentally” tossed some scraps onto the GoPro (nice set up), which led to that eagle or another, picking up the entire GoPro and flying off with it as James probably wondered if you can bust a CITIZEN’S ARREST on a bird.

Surprisingly that bald eagle didn’t fly to the nearest pawn shop, sell that thing, and use the cash to buy some Chilean Sea Bass. The bald eagle dropped it on the beach, and it was found later by someone who gave it back to James.

I like to feed the local Eagles the remains from my Chinook Salmon/Halibut/Red Cod catch. One day an Eagle steals my GoPro. I am re-united 6 weeks later after someone found it on the local beach and was nice enough to return it.

When James got his camera back, he looked at the footage and found some of the eagle’s claw over the lens, and if you’re my gastro doctor, you’re probably looking at that part like, “That looks a look like scenes from Michael’s colonoscopy.”

My favorite part is the end when after the bald eagle lets go of the GoPro and stands in front of it all majestic and fearless while thinking, “Here I am, the thief who stole your shit, and I dare you to do something about it, bitch.” I salute this bold criminal!
