Some People Aren’t Happy That Patti LuPone Made A Gay Joke About Lindsey Graham

Usually when Patti LuPone opens her mouth, you’re either treated to the big, bold Tony-winning voice of a diva or a thoroughly enjoyable serving of diva attitude. Recently, Patti said something on Twitter that didn’t exactly have the audience rising to their feet with an enthusiastic standing ovation.
According to Queerty, Patti is obviously very disgusted with Donald Trump’s recent “go back to where you came from” comments regarding four non-white US representatives. Patti is also very mad that Senate Judiciary Committee chair Senator Lindsey Graham refused to acknowledge the racism in said comments. So Patti did what a lot of people do when they’re pissed off. She hopped on Twitter and hissed about it.
Patti had people at the “disgrace” part. But not her personal note. As Queerty points out, it wasn’t long before Patti’s mentions were filled with people saying that it’s homophobic to use a gay rumor as an insult.
Ms. Lupone, I teach a high school theatre class and want my students to admire your work. Please don’t ruin it for me 🙁

Meanwhile, some people didn’t have as much of a problem with it.
I have faith in @PattiLuPone's gaydar.

Lindsey Graham addressed the gay rumors back in October 2018 after Chelsea Handler tweeted: “If you’re wondering why Republicans took a sick day today, it’s probably because it’s #NationalComingOutDay. Looking at you @LindseyGrahamSC.” Lindsey responded: “To the extent that it matters, I’m not gay.”
Honestly, there are a million other ways she could have dragged him. Like the fact that his nose didn’t always smell like Trump’s ass. Or maybe that he kind of looks like a caricature from Six Flags that came to life and moved to Washington DC.
