Sarah Hyland Announced Her Engagement With The Help Of A Beach Vacation Video

E! News reports that Sarah Hyland, the sister from Modern Family, got engaged to her boyfriend, Wells Adams, with an elaborate drone-filmed beach proposal. And it’s obvious we’re talking about the older sister from Modern Family, because Ariel Winter’s ideal marriage proposal would take place on the hood of a Lamborghini during spring break in a Fashion Nova outfit.
28-year-old Sarah and 35-year-old Wells, who have been dating for about two years, were recently on a fancy beach vacation together. One day, Sarah and Wells got all dressed up and took some champagne out on the beach, and you can guess what happened next. Hell, anyone could guess what happened next. Except for Sarah apparently, who was SO SURPRISED when Wells dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring. And we know this, because drone footage and a professional photographer caught the whole thing.
Sarah also posted some pictures from the special, intimate moment between herself, her fiancé, and the person they hired to work the camera for her social media (thank goodness she wasn’t on one of her self-imposed social media hiatuses). And she’s clearly a pretty big It Takes Two fan, based on that caption – but who can blame her, really? It’s some of Kirstie Alley’s best work.

As for Sarah’s ring, jewelry experts estimate the value somewhere between $125,000 and $200,000. And anyone thinking, “Wow, Sarah spent a lot on that ring” – well you can just cool it, because Wells totally bought it himself. E! says that Wells appeared on Brandi Cyrus’ podcast earlier this year, and swore that his super-rich girlfriend won’t buy her own ring, and that any assumption that “Sarah pays for everything” is wrong. No, of course you did, Wells! I think we’re all just shocked to learn that making it to week 6 on The Bachelor, bartending on Bachelor in Paradise, and one appearance on Celebrity Family Feud pays so well.
One peek at Sarah’s Instagram will show you that she’s no stranger to sponsored content. And Wells is an alumni of The Bachelorette, which means he too knows a thing about a shameless plug. So I would not at all be surprised to learn this vacation commercial-looking video was shot with promotional consideration provided by Sandals Resorts. Maybe drones too. I just can’t believe there were no long-stemmed roses or doves. If you’re going to go cheesy, go all out.
