Gypsy Rose Blanchard Shows Off Her Fiancé For The First Time

July 16, 2019 / Posted by:

Just when I thought true love had died, Gypsy Rose Blanchard showed off her new fiancé and proved that love is stronger than a silly prison sentence for killing your abusive mom. Gypsy met her new fiancé, Ken, through a prison pen pal exchange program and now he’s making his public debut as her man on Instagram. Gypsy could get out in 2023 if her parole is approved, so she and Ken could make it onto a future season of Love After Lockup.

According to People:

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was pictured alongside her fiancé three months after she announced her engagement to him.

The photos were obtained exclusively by E! and were taken in May when Blanchard’s fiancé, Ken, met his future in-laws Rod and Kristy Blanchard. (Ken’s last name has not been publicly revealed.)

“We really do like him and we hope to get to know him better,” Kristy Blanchard tells PEOPLE, adding that they talk to him often. “He loves Gypsy very much, and you can clearly see that when he talks about her and looks at her.”

Here’s the happy family:

Ken wrote Gypsy a letter in prison after watching HBO’s Mommy Dead and Dearest. They’ve known each other for ten years, and these two love birds are going to wait until Gypsy finishes her sentence to have a non-prison wedding. I’m sure ABC and NBC are in a bidding war over who gets to televise the blessed event. ABC is also probably pissed they wasted an opportunity to have their first prisoner Bachelorette.

In April, shortly after announcing Blanchard’s engagement, family friend Fancy Macelli told PEOPLE the couple’s relationship started off platonic and eventually became romantic after months of correspondence.

“He’s just there for her,” Macelli said in April. “I’ve seen her grow into a really intelligent, mature person and I think a lot of that does have to do with the relationships that she’s now allowed to have…You can draw from the people you have around.”

Let’s hope this works for them. Gypsy has been through it and Ken looks to me like the kind of guy who wouldn’t murder someone, so maybe there’s hope for these crazy kids.
