The Cast Announcement For “American Horror Story: 1984” Is Very 1984

The next installment of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: 1984 won’t be released until September, but Ryan’s already got his hair and wardrobe departments working overtime creating some peak ‘80s looks for the cast. And since the cast for season 10 does not include Dame Joan Collins, I’d understand if you skipped this post entirely. However, if you do stay, you will be treated/exposed to Matthew Morrison’s enormous bulge (rubber, I’m sure) almost slipping out of his tiny mustard colored terrycloth shorts.
Ryan posted the cast announcement on Instagram in a video which includes AHS vets (not named Sarah Paulson) like Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Julia Roberts’ Niece, John Carroll Lynch, and Cody Fern. Also joining the cast are DeRon Horton (Dear White People), Zach Villa, Angelica Ross (Pose) and former Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy. All of them dancing, preening and looking askance to the mellow sounds of I Can Dream About You by Dan Hartman, not Hall & Oates like I always thought. According to Variety:
The video also solidifies that this season of the series will be inspired by classic slasher films like “Friday the 13th,” with the cast seemingly on the run from a murderer loose in the woods possibly at a summer camp.
Here’s the video if you can’t be bothered to scroll through all 5 pages.
Cody Fern is giving me everything my little ‘80’s middle-school heart never knew it wanted: Andrew McCarthy and George Michael’s love child with just a scooch of James Spader and a Perfect drop of Jamie Lee Curtis, but make it fashion. No more fashion. More. That’s it! That’s the ticket.
