Mariah Carey Says She’s Only Slept With Five Guys

This would be an entirely different story if the five guys in question were the five guys of Five Guys, which is where my mind went first because hamburgers. But we don’t have names. All Cosmopolitan was able to get out of Mariah for their August issue is a number, and Mariah’s declaration that she’s a “prude” when it comes to sex.

After answering some questions with Mariah-levels of shade (like “Anybody can make a [music] video now” and “A lot of artists say they write, but they don’t really write. No offense to anybody. That’s just what I’ve seen“), she was asked about her love life. Specifically, the fact that her tastes appear to run younger, and more backup dancer-y.

49-ish Mariah has been dating 36-year-old backup dancer Bryan Tanaka. Whether Bryan is breaking it off to the sound of Mariah hitting a G#7 is between them. But don’t go thinking Mariah is snuggling with any ol’ backup dancer born in the 1980s. She says:

“I haven’t had that many, but there has been a variety pack. I’ve only been with five people in my life, so I’m kind of a prude, honestly, compared to most others in the field.”

There’s a long-standing rumor that sex isn’t high on Mariah’s priority list, and she’s reportedly been known to make her suitors wait until she says “I do.” So when Mariah says she’s only been with five guys, she’s probably telling the truth. And part of me believes that Mariah’s number was half her choice, and half by accident. You can’t tell me that Mariah hasn’t prepared to get down, sat on her hotel bed, shuddered at the disgustingly low thread count of the sheets touching her skin, and declared the mood officially killed.
