Evan Rachel Wood Is Not Here For Hopper In “Stranger Things” And Called Him Out On Twitter

Yeah, she’s coming for you, Chief Jim Hopper! Hopper has been worried about the Upside-Down, Demogorgons and Mind Flayers, but he really needs to be looking out for Evan Rachel Wood! She’s the real threat!

The humanoid robot who was the first AI to develop self-awareness, become sentient and murder a bunch of people actress hopped on Twitter to lament some issues she had with the most recent season of Netflix’s hit sci-fi series about annoying kids in the 80s, Stranger Things. There are mild spoilers ahead, so if you didn’t spend 8 hours watching the show on July 4th and want to watch the third season, you’ve been warned.

After binging the season in one-go, Evan had opinions and they were about the main guy aged above 13: Police Chief Jim Hopper, played by David Harbour. Which is funny because the worst character by far is that Dustin kid. Her issues were that this gruff douche-bag cop had really amped up the assholery in the third season and was basically a creepy abusive boyfriend to Winona Ryder‘s Joyce Byers even though they weren’t dating. And he was also way too controlling of his adopted-daughter, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown.

Evan tweeted that nobody should date a man like Hopper: they are trash and it’s not sexy. Before you say it, Evan knows that it’s just a show about monsters from alternate universes, and she knows it was set in the 80s and men were super-trash then and are just mostly-trash now, but you’re missing her point. She went in:

I mean, she’s right. There’s a problem in society where we think this stuff is cute. Like, look at Dacre Montgomery who plays a hyper-villainous Billy this season; even all evil and possessed and violent I still want him to blow my back out. We need to stop this and grow as a society. #OnlyLetNiceGuysBlowYourBackOut2019
