Sarah Jessica Parker Once Reported A “Big Movie Star” For Being Inappropriate On Set

While doing an interview on NPR’s Fresh Air (via The Independent), Sarah Jessica Parker let us know that she has been on the receiving end of some trash men, but there was one time in particular where she was working on a movie with a guy and he was such a piece of shit that she had to tell her agent. And apparently he was big business.

SJP is really not one to spill tea, she’s too elegant for that and even if she did spill it would be this whole process for the housekeeper to clean up so like, she’s trying to be polite–so she never says who it was, but mama: we can guess.

Sarah spoke with Fresh Air host, Terry Gross, telling him that post-#MeToo, she looked back at all the crap she’s put up with over the years and noticed she had actually been through a lot. She said she began “recognising countless experiences of men behaving poorly, inappropriately” during her career. At the time she’d “push it away” because: duh, she wanted to keep her jobs. Like most of us looking back on our past traumas, Sarah was amazed she took it so well:

“To be honest, I don’t know why I either wasn’t courageous or more destroyed by some of the things that I was privy to, that I was on the receiving end of.”

But there was one moment early in her career where enough was enough. The guy probably didn’t double-wash spoons in the washing machine or something and she was like: “Sexual harassment or bad hygiene; but not both.” She said:

“[He] as behaving, not only inappropriately, but perhaps even I would say, they weren’t living up to contractual obligations as well.”

Harassing a woman is one thing, but contractual obligations? Movie studios will not stand for that! Sarah hit up her agent to let them know about it because she was “no longer able to convey how uncomfortable this was making [her], how inappropriate it was.”

But Sarah says “everything had changed” within hours of telling on this prick. Her agent had told the actor that if he kept it up Sarah would hop on a plane and not come back. While the guy stopped being a total asshole Sarah admits it wasn’t exactly “perfectly pleasant” on set afterwards:

“But I didn’t have to be coy any longer and I didn’t have to dread a potential conversation. I didn’t have to listen to jokes about me or my figure or what people thought they could talk me into doing. All these men. All these men. That stopped. The nature of the person who I felt was really the instigator, this was a grown man, a very big movie star and you know he was baked, meaning his personality, it was cooked. He was a formed person and that wasn’t going to change. But I felt certainly better and safer, like I could finish what I had agreed to do.”

All right guesses on who this guy was? IMDB early Sarah Jessica Parker credits (minus TV movies because like, she said “big movie star”, no offence) give me some hints and so I’m going to guess either Bruce Willis because she said he was older or Hugh Grant. Jon Stewart said he sucked in the early 2010s, so he must have realllllly sucked in the early 1990s. Sure they worked together again on did Did You Hear About The Morgans? but that movie is literally about a couple who hates each other, so…
