John Schneider Got “Married” Before His Divorce Was Finalized

Someone was eager to get to the newlywed sexin’! Tight-jeaned 80s icon John Schneider (aka Bo Duke from The Dukes of Hazzard), 59, married girlfriend Alicia Allain despite his divorce from his wife of 21 years, Elvira “Elly” Schneider, not getting signed off on as of yet. This means that John isn’t actually married to Alicia. The couple says they were married “before God” so it’s official in God’s eyes and that’s just as good. Tell that to the future palimony attorneys, John. Actually, scratch that. John claims he’s so broke he can’t pay attention so she wouldn’t be getting anything anyways.

People reports that John and Alicia were married in an “intimate ceremony” in the barn at John Schneider Studios in Holden, Louisiana. Is that like a Dollywood-type thing? Is it a theme park? Is there a Dukes of Hazzard ride where you can ride in a racist-emblem-emblazoned Dodge Charger while dressed as Boss Hogg?

“This has been a wonderful celebration, a sanctuary of love. Just a perfect day of celebrating with friends and family,” Allain tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.

Schneider adds: “Happy is too small of a word.”

The plan is to get married legally once John’s divorce from Elly May is finalized. John reportedly owes Elly $150,000 in back alimony so the play-wedding in the barn might be the only wedding they’re going to have for awhile. John even went to jail because he claims he doesn’t have the cash.

John, who is also a country music performer, has three adult kids with Elly – Leah, Chasen, and Karis.

Oh, and check this:

After exchanging vows inside the barn, the couple, along with a handful of close friends and family, kept the party going in an outdoor reception. There, Allain and Schneider — currently starring on Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots — danced together as fireworks erupted in the sky above them.

Unless it was Roscoe P. Coltrane or those sad stand-ins Coy and Vance lighting off roman candles from atop of the General Lee, this reeks of chicanery to me. How do you afford a professional fireworks display if you owe your ex a large sum of cash? Yeah, it was probably Roscoe or Daisy Duke with some sparklers.
