There’s A Rumor That The Leaks About Meghan McCain’s Future On “The View” Are Coming From Sunny Hostin
Despite the fact that it looks like Sunny Hostin is about to choke Meghan McCain, that’s not what’s happening above (she was actually going in for a welcome back hug). But if you believe Page Six’s sources, then any theory of Sunny going for the jugular might not be too far off.
The Daily Beast claimed that Meghan McCain is just as tone-deaf in real-life as she is on TV when she apparently told people she feels like a “caged animal” at The View. Sources said that Meghan wasn’t sure about returning to The View for the 23rd season in September. Some sources claimed Meghan felt exhausted, isolated, and ganged up on, and wanted out.
Page Six says Meghan thinks the calls are coming from inside the house! Specifically, from Sunny Hostin’s dressing room. A source says that “network insiders” are looking into Sunny, because they believe she’s the source of the leak. They add that they believe there are eyewitnesses and texts that will prove Sunny is the reason why we know so much about Meghan’s future plans.
Sunny seems like the last co-host who would squeal about Meghan, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. You can practically see Meghan give Whoopi a headache every day, but Whoopi is too busy using her phone to judge youths that take their clothes off. And Joy Behar isn’t shy about how much she hates Meghan. But that’s the thing with Joy – she wouldn’t leak anything as a “source.” She’d call up The Daily Beast and say, “This is all on the record. My name is Joy. J-O-Y. Alright, here’s what I think about that spoiled brat Meghan…”
But Sunny has shot back, saying it’s absolutely not her. As has The View’s senior executive producer Hilary Estey McLoughlin. Hilary says:
“I don’t think Sunny is the leak. I don’t think anyone who is working on the show could be that overtly doing something that’s potentially problematic for their own careers.”
While a rep for Sunny says:
“This is absurd, and I’m not surprised the source is anonymous, since defamation is actionable.”
A rep for ABC says they love Sunny and look forward to having her at the table next year. It’s starting to sound like Sunny really isn’t the leak responsible for the Meghan rumors. But what about the leak who said Sunny is responsible? Is it Bethenny Frankel? When the leak was done pointing fingers at Sunny, did the leak also add: “If you decide to get rid of her, I’d be more than happy to take her place! I’ve got daytime TV experience, and I’m a full-blown mess.”
