Meghan McCain Might Leave “The View” Since She Feels Like A “Caged Animal”

This is not the best time for Meghan McCain to be referring to herself as a “caged animal” considering the controversy at the border and her comments re: that. But listen, when has this mess ever had a shred of self-awareness? I mean, she refers to herself as a “Blonde Republican” in her social media bios, like? Is that special? I think there are lots of those…

Because it’s soooooooooo hard being the one person on The View panel who doesn’t think children being away from their parents is “torture”, Meghan is thinking of not renewing her lucrative contract with ABC.

The Daily Beast says that 34-year-old Meghan McCain is thinking of leaving the Hen House, because she’s getting tired of getting ganged up on for her views.  She’s allegedly already been offered a contract (she reportedly makes just under a $1 million a year) for the upcoming 23rd season, but isn’t sure if she wants to take it.

Sources close to her are saying that she feels drained emotionally and isolated at work. Um, isn’t that how everyone feels at work?  But sources say that all the bad publicity she gets for being unapologetically herself on national television has her “feeling like a caged animal.”

Apart from the on-screen fighting, reports about Meghan’s off-screen dramas at work include her acting: “entitled, unreasonable, manic, and self-obsessed—a petulant child, given to crying fits when she’s roasted on social media.” Which is definitely what I think of when I think of Meghan McCain. Well that and her father.

Another source said she feels “so exhausted and defeated.”

“It’s getting to the point where it’s not worth the emotional toll every week. If she doesn’t stay at The View, she will find other work.”

Hmm, I wonder why she’s so confident she’d find more work. Probably because of nepotism she’s so skilled.

Hilary Estey McLoughlin, a senior executive producer on The View told The Daily Beast:

“We don’t want people to attack Meghan. We’re happy to have Meghan there. I think she does want to be there. I think she wants to be on the show. She realizes it’s a very good platform for her and we love having her there. I feel like she will come back… What happens with Meghan is that because she’s so passionate about what she’s talking about, and she feels very strongly that she’s carrying this mantle for the conservative perspective, and what she wants to talk about is so important to her, I think that’s the part that’s the most draining for her.”

Oh yes, I’m sure Meghan McCain is going to walk away from a show that keeps her name trending and puts her out there constantly. I’m sure she’s going to kiss off an overpaid job where she gets paid way too much to spew out her nonsense. I’m sure that Daily Beast piece wasn’t leaked by her as a way to get more money out of ABC to sign on to another season of high-pitched whining. But then again, that Daily Beast article didn’t mention that she’s the daughter of John McCain at least two dozen times, so maybe not.
