Tori Spelling And Dean McDermott Were Absent From A Bank Lawsuit Hearing Because He’s In The Hospital

In a lovely turn of events, this Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott story doesn’t test my gag reflex by making me picture him banging her or banging someone who isn’t her. Nope, the only thing The Deaner is banging is his hospital tray, while yelling, “Yo, can I get another one of these Jell-Os? And this time throw some booze in it, will ya? Dean wants to get wild on the intensive care ward.”
This all started on Saturday, after Dean posted a video of himself lying in bed, claiming that he’d thrown his back out trying to pick up a towel, and that he had a 102-degree fever that he got from his second-youngest son Finn.
Earlier today, Dean posted a picture of himself wearing several stick-on monitors and a nasal cannula, taken from what appears to be inside a medical facility. He explained in the caption that he was hospitalized on Sunday night with pneumonia, possibly meningitis. He hypothesized in the comments that the back pain he was feeling on Saturday might have actually been due to the possible meningitis.
Tori and Dean are still fighting with City National Bank over several hundred thousand dollars worth of unpaid loans and fees, and they were scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles court today to discuss that. July 1st was the make-up date chosen after Tori bailed on her original date, March 29th. A bench warrant for her arrest was issued, but later dropped. Radar Online says that when court opened its doors this morning, Tori and Dean were nowhere to be found for their 8:30am appointment.
Of course Dean wasn’t going to make it – he’s too busy screwing around with the up and down buttons on his hospital bed. But where’s Tori? According to Instagram, she’s Celebrating Canada Day in Victoria, British Columbia with her daughter Stella.
Radar says that lawyers on both sides agreed to push the hearing, this time to September. Tori and Dean owe City National Bank $279,375 ($202,066 for a judgement awarded to City National, plus interest to the tune of $77,309).
It’s not known what the truth is here. Is Dean actually in the hospital? Is Tori really in Victoria? Was this all an elaborate scam to get out of court? Is this like when someone tries to get out of work on Saturday by coughing within earshot of their manager on Thursday? I suppose City National’s lawyers could test Dean the next time they see him by asking how many times he requested a sponge bath from the nurse from the Blink-182 album Enema of the State.
