The US Department Of Justice Is Suing Omarosa For Failing To File Some Paperwork
The level of petty coming out of The White House is almost admirable. I live for petty antics, but when the “leader” of the “free” world uses them to intimidate and punish his critics, it’s absolutely horrifying. Thank god it’s just DJ Omarosa we’re talking about. This time. According to The Hill, the Department of Justice filed a civil lawsuit against Donald Trump’s former Second Best Black Friend for failing to submit a financial disclosure report upon her “resignation” in December of 2017 when she was practically dragged out of The White House by her ear. The DOJ is claiming that in failing to file the report, Omarosa committed an ethics violation (oh that’s rich) and they are seeking a fine of up to $50,000. Like I said, PEH-TEE.
According to The Hill:
The complaint, filed in federal court in D.C. on Tuesday, alleges that Manigault Newman was told in December 2017 — when she left the White House — that she needed to file a termination financial disclosure report by Jan. 18, 2018.
The document states that three emails were sent to her personal email address reminding her of her obligation to file the report.
The department alleged that ethics attorneys in the White House counsel’s office then made repeated attempts to contact Manigault Newman, telling her that her financial disclosure report was past due.
And if the DOJ dogging a dubiously titled low-level consultant over some missing paperwork is ridiculous, Omarosa’s rebuttal brings the entire situation around full circle to absurd. According to a statement released by her attorney, Omarosa wasn’t able to complete her paperwork because the goons who put her out on her ear seized “the contents of seven boxes” from her office and she needed whatever was in those boxes to complete the form. The statement also indicates that Omarosa repeatedly asked for her shit back and requested an extension until her boxes were returned to her, leaving me to scream in anguish, “WHAT’S IN THE BOX WHAT’S IN THE BOOOOOOX!” (probably just a bunch of wrung out tea bags and a Ben Carson bobble head). It’s not surprising in the least that the President of the United States would deploy the full power of the DOJ to publicly rap the knuckles of his former SBBFF with a ruler for not turning in her homework on time. But it really should be!
