Chicago PD Released A Lot More Evidence In The Jussie Smollett Case, Including Footage Of Him With A Rope Around His Neck

Chicago PD has been releasing all of the evidence that made them go from looking at Jussie Smollett as the victim of a hate crime to the diabolical STUNT QUEEN mastermind of a fake hate crime. They already released the 911 call made by Jussie’s friend/manager/whatever that night, and now they’ve released hours upon hours of footage that includes police cam footage of Jussie in his apartment with the rope around his neck and talking about how he has bleach all over him. Never mind that the neat freak in me wants to jump through the screen to scream at everyone, “How can you just stand there when there’s all that shit on the counter over there?!“, I am more disturbed by Jussie’s sweater. That sweater looks exactly like one my abuelita bought at the Tijuana/San Diego border and wore for centuries. Excuse me while I contact the Chicago PD to file a thieving bitch report against Jussie.

Jussie was facing a shit load of charges for allegedly faking the hate crime that involved him getting jumped by racist homophobes who he claims put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him, and shouted, “This is MAGA country!”, before running off. Those charges were dropped out of nowhere, and the State’s Attorney Kim Foxx said that in exchange for community service he served and his bail money, the city has decided to call it good with Jussie and let him go. But it’s not over yet. Last week, a judge appointed a special prosecutor to look into how Jussie’s case was handled, and there’s a chance that investigation could end with him facing new charges. So this footage may come into play again.

Police released this video of officers going into Jussie’s apartment building, where they were escorted up to his place by his “creative director” who says that he’s very prideful, doesn’t want to make this a big deal, is on Empire, and that the noose-like thing around his neck is very bothersome. When they get into his apartment, Jussie shows them the rope around his neck, tells them he has bleach on him, and then lets them know to stop recording him. And it ends there:

There’s also taxi cam footage recorded right before the attack of the Osundairo brothers, the bodybuilding brothers who Jussie allegedly paid to co-star in his scheme and “attack” him. While wearing what my doctor wears before busting a prostate exam on me (wait, your doctor doesn’t wear a Hazmat suit during a prostate exam?), the bodybuilding brothers sit in the taxi as they’re driven to the pre-determined attack scene. TMZ notes that they aren’t holding anything, like props needed to carry out the attack.

Jussie’s thespian is showing here, because this is just way too elaborate and involved. It’s an alleged staged hate crime, not a Broadway production, Jussie! Everybody knows that when staging a fake hate crime: keep it simple! I bet that when the cops asked Jussie to sign the report and hand over the rope for evidence, he said, “Sorry, I gotta give that rope back to the prop assistant, and if you want my autograph, I’ll be signing Playbills outside of the stage door later.”
