Amanda Bynes Returned To Twitter To Announce Her Graduation From FIDM

It’s been 7 months since Amanda Bynes graced the cover of Paper magazine and revealed that she was 4-years sober, working towards a bachelor’s degree at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and planning a return to acting. Unfortunately things didn’t exactly work out as planned and Amanda wound up back in rehab just 4 months later, and we haven’t heard a peep from her since. The good news is she’s apparently been doing well enough to graduate from FIDM, as evidenced by a photo she posted on Twitter, her first social media activity since November.

Here’s Amanda’s triumphant announcement. Considering the obstacles she faced, which include but are not limited to pyromania, public brawling, 5150 holds, crimes against hair pieces, crimes against Rihanna, DUI, unhinged tweeting, neighbor disputes, soliciting Drake, and bongs falling from the sky, it’s quite an accomplishment indeed.

It’s unclear which degree Amanda has earned. According to Huffington Post:

Bynes received her associate degree in merchandise product development last year. She had announced plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree immediately thereafter at the start of 2019.

So either she completed her BA in record time, or she was finally able to walk with her associate degree. Either way, good for her! It took me 15 years from start to finish to earn my BA and I never once had the disadvantage of being publically bodied by Rihanna.

Whatever’s next for Amanda, I hope it’s slow, healthy growth and that she doesn’t rush back into public life. In the past she’s indicated a desire to get back into acting upon completion of her degree, to which I say, where’s JoBeth Williams when you need her?
