Bethenny Frankel Pulled An “I Don’t Know Her” When Asked If She Yelled At Sunny Hostin’s Kid

Last week on The View, Whoopi Goldberg played a clip from a recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York in which Bethenny Frankel confronts Luanne De Lesseps, accusing Luanne of not supporting her after her boyfriend Dennis Shields died of a drug overdose last year. Bethenny was pissed, because she thought Luanne would return the favor after Bethenny gave her support while Luanne was in rehab. Bethenny was all kinds of wound-up, which could have been the grief or the alcohol or both. Whoopi asked if Bethenny was overdoing it when she flew off the handle on Luanne. Meghan McCain defended Bethenny, saying that grief can do that to a person. Sunny Hostin wasn’t so sympathetic.

Around the 2:30 mark in the video below, Sunny explains that Bethenny’s outburst wasn’t just due to grief, or was put-on for the cameras, because Sunny claims she’s seen Bethenny’s mouth in action.

“I don’t know Bethenny. But I’ve seen her behave that way on the beach, yelling at my child…they’re telling me not to talk about it, in my ear. I’m just saying, I’ve seen that kind of behavior when Bethenny yelled at my child on the beach. Bethenny yelled at my child on the beach. It was in the middle of the day, and my child was about seven, playing with other children at about 2:00 in the afternoon, and she said that her child was napping inside with the window open, and that our children were being too loud on the beach.

She yelled at my child. And I went out there and stood in front of my child and I yelled at her and told her that adults speak to adults. And she knows I’m telling the truth.”

Andy Cohen asked Bethenny about Sunny’s comments during Thursday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live. A viewer wrote in asking what’s going on between Bethenny and Sunny, and Bethenny responded that she didn’t know. When Andy reminded her that Sunny had accused her of yelling at Sunny’s kid, Bethenny went all Mariah Carey:

“I know – I think she’s been drinking or taking some drugs. I don’t know, and I don’t know her!”

According to Sunny, Bethenny is a mean witch who yells at innocent children making sandcastles just a little too loud. According to Bethenny, Sunny is not only making things up, but possibly drunk or on drugs. Who to believe here? A well-respected lawyer and journalist, or someone who yells for a living on TV. Maybe they’re both right. Maybe Sunny just thought she was speaking to Bethenny. Because Sunny didn’t mention if Bethenny yelled, “My child – whose clothing I can totally wear, by the way – is napping!”
