Princess, the anti-car jacking ninja!
Her name might be Princess, but Princess is more like the Queen when it comes to delivering a scalding hot plate of Not Today, Motherfucker to thieves trying to steal her shit. “Sliders” of the Atlanta area have been warned. When you roll up on Princess, slide on by, because she’s not about to let you ruin her night by making her spend way too time on the phone with her insurance company.
Princess tells WSB-TV that she’s heard before about the “slider” move, which is when criminals drive up next to someone pumping gas at a gas station, hoping that their mark is too busy crying while watching the total $ection of the gas pump screen go higher and higher, and won’t notice their car being stolen. So Princess knew what kind of criminal foolery was about to go down when a car pulled up next to hers at a Texaco in College Park, GA on Sunday night. The thief jumped out of the passenger side of the robbers’ car and planned to get into Princess’ car through the driver’s side door to either steal something inside, her purse or phone, or steal the entire car. But Princess knew what was up, and quickly dropped the gas pump, and Jackie Chan’d through the open passenger window of her car before the thief had a chance to open her door. The thief smartly got the message loud and clear, and skedaddled out of there.
Note to car thieves: Does Princess look like Pebbles to you? No, you can’t ride in her Mercedes, boy.
Princess got a battle wound in the form of a little scrape, but dealing with that is better than having to deal with a stolen car:
“I didn’t have a chance to think; all I was thinking was, he’s not about to take my stuff,” she said. “It was mind-blowing. I just couldn’t believe he was doing this while I’m standing here.”
The woman, who asked to be referred to by her first name, Princess, said her face got scraped during the incident. She said she’d heard about these “slider crimes,” as these cases in which criminals target people pumping gas are called.
“Nobody wants anything taken from them, no matter if you have insurance or not. That’s just a big inconvenience,” she said.
The woman said she called the police and added that it was very fortunate that her baby wasn’t in the car when this happened.
I hate doing any kind of physical activity and I also don’t care about my car enough to sit for 6 hours in an ER waiting room with a gunshot wound after getting shot by a car jacker, so I would never do what Princess did. But it worked for her, and it saved her a lot of time she would’ve spent on hold while making various phone calls, and it also gave us the only sequel to The Fast and the Furious we need.
