Amber Heard Is Fighting Revenge Porn On Capitol Hill

May 23, 2019 / Posted by:

Amber Heard took time out of her busy schedule of allegedly setting up a highly elaborate frame job against Johnny Depp (so claims Johnny Depp) and went to Capitol Hill to speak to the big-guns of politics in a part of an ongoing effort to stop revenge porn.

TMZ reports that Amber is fighting to criminalize non-consensual pornography, AKA revenge porn. Like when a guy threatens to email your nudes to your parents after you break up with him (happened to a friend)? Or when you send a guy nudes and he posts them to his Snapchat group called “Titty Bros” (kids these days)? That kind of shit. Amber herself has dealt with leaked nudes and non-consensual nudity; she had topless pictures she’d sent to Johnny Depp leak online in 2014, and also in 2017 she sued some filmmakers for allegedly using a body double to make it look like she did a nude scene in a movie which was not in her contract.

TMZ caught her as she was leaving to her car and she talked to them about what she’s doing and why:

“We’re hoping to pass a federal bill that makes non-consensual pornography illegal… We’re making great progress, we’re really excited about it. This is a major issue, its one that does not discriminate but unfortunately disproportionately affects women… and I say this as it has affected me… and I have a position–fortunately–of privilege and power so imagine if non-consensual pornography is still impacting me, as it is degrading, humiliating and dehumanizing–and once it’s leaked online, once those images are posted without your consent online, you will continue to see representations and images of yourself being sold, commodified and abused time and time again, and it’s impossible to remove those once they’re leaked online.”

Amber also let you know that she knows she’s privileged and famous so if revenge porn sucks for her, then it must suck X1000000 for those who are not privileged and famous and have a big platform.

“This is why I’m speaking out on behalf of it, because if it has affected me this way imagine whats it’s like for people with less resources, for LGBTQ people, for women of color, for minority groups–if it affects me this much and it is this hard for me to eradicate it, to get recourse–imagine what it’s like for others.”

The TMZ guy then asked Amber if her leaked nudes have impacted her career. Which is when Amber realizes she has lost her car. Did her team leave without her? Did Johnny Depp pay off her driver to mess with her (likely)?

In this day and age of digital trolls leaking nudes, it’s time for Polaroid to make a huge comeback! You can’t leak a Polaroid to the internet (shut up with your “but you can take a picture of it or scan it and upload it” talk), and many of us are really inpatient so while waiting for that Polaroid to come through, we’d get bored and throw it away before watching a Real Housewives marathon. As Amber fights the good fight, it’s Polaroid’s time to rise!
