Rami Malek Is A Fan Of The Cast Reveal For “Bond 25”

Rami Malek already proved he can tackle the role of an unsettling super villain when he did that “I’m a Fan” spot for Mandarin Oriental. Now it’s been confirmed that Rami might just be an unsettling super villain, for real. The full cast for the upcoming Bond 25, which is directed by super snack Cary Fukunaga, and produced by superfood Barbara Broccoli, was revealed today in a special live event. Rami wasn’t able to make the trip to Jamaica where the event took place and was filmed from the house where Ian Fleming wrote all the Bond books. But he did send in sinister video message that might have been done in character as his as-of-yet unnamed Bond foiling baddie.

Here’s Rami with a very special message.

What if during the whole movie he just repeatedly tries to FaceTime Bond at like the worst possible time. That honestly is my idea of a nightmare nemesis. Rami isn’t the only new face you’ll see in Bond 25. According to Entertainment Weekly:

Newcomers of director Cary Fukunaga’s installment of the iconic franchise include Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Rami Malek, Flash‘s Dali Benssalah, Velvet Buzzsaw‘s Billy Magnussen, Blade Runner 2049‘s Ana de Armas, Captain Marvel‘s Lashana Lynch, and Quicksand‘s David Dencik, with Malek playing a villain.

That’s quite a list of who’s who? Maybe these casting cards will help.

These all look more like “In memoriam” slides. Maybe this is a clue??! There will also be some familiar faces with Ralph Fiennes returning as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as RS and Jeffrey Wright as LMNOP (top secret government names: Moneypenny and Felix). And Daniel Craig can’t wiffle waffle anymore. He’s in as Bond, probably for the last time. Ok, possibly for the last time. If James Bond has taught me anything, it’s never say never again. Also that a sacred why is a mystery gaping inside. But that one still confuses me a bit.

Plot details are thin, but Rami saying he’s going to make sure Bond doesn’t have “an easy ride” may have been a hint. Similar wording was used by the producer.

An official title is still under wraps, but producer Barbara Broccoli teases, “Bond is not on active service when we start the film. So, he is actually enjoying himself in Jamaica,” which she calls a “spiritual home” for the character. “We start the story here and we built an extraordinary house for him,” Broccoli continues, but adds that there’s “quite a ride in store for Mr. Bond.”

Aha. Now, I don’t want to get sued for leaking spoilers or anything, but I predict that Bond will ride or drive some sort of motorized vehicle, probably at unsafe speeds. Somebody might also shoot at him while he does this. Hey, I know it’s a wild guess, but I just have a feeling.
