Quavo From Migos Claims He Bought A Tiger, And People Are Pissed

March 10, 2019 / Posted by:

Quavo Huncho, 1/3 of the golden triangle that is Migos (not to be confused with the dudes that make up Casamigos tequila), pissed people off by posting a video on Instagram, which is a 100% sure fire way to piss people off. Even adorable kitten videos are not safe from people’s negative opinions these days. However, the video Quavo posted isn’t like most kitten videos… think much bigger, non-domesticated and in threat of becoming endangered. It’s a tiger video. Quavo claims he just bought a tiger named “Cho” as a pet. The majority of people weighing in are rightfully pissed off about it.

Here’s the video Quavo posted. Warning: you may get a contact high to go with your disgust.

The video, which has over a million views, has racked up over 4,000 mostly negative comments by celebrities, animal rights and rescue groups, and even fans of Quavo, who think his “flex” buying this poor tiger is “whack“. Did that sound natural?

Comedian Whitney Cummings said (via People):

“This is not cool. It’s reckless to promote and glamorize this. You don’t need a tiger as a pet. Privately owned exotics end up in cages or in sanctuaries where other people have to care for them. Please stop. Happy to provide you information on why this was an irresponsible and poor decision.”

The sanctuary Lions, Tigers and Bears, who took in Tyga’s illegally owned pet tiger in 2016 (oh, the days when Tyga could afford things like an illegal pet tiger on Kylie Jenner‘s boyfriend allowance) also weighed in:

“Tigers don’t belong in backyards, basements, or music studios. Private ownership puts people at risk and exposes captive wild animals to horrific cruelty. Glorifying private ownership of tigers is bad for everyone. Please do the right thing for this tiger and seek help from an accredited sanctuary. Come visit us and learn more about the devastating exotic animal trade. This is one more reason we all need to support the Big Cat Public Safety Act, HR 1380 to end private ownership of big cats like tigers.”

But the best comments are from his fans, who are calling bullshit on Quavo’s tiger ownership, which by the way, he has not confirmed again since posting the initial video and receiving this well earned backlash. Comments such as “this man really don’t know what to do with his money“, “most stupid thing you ever done” and “Bro you think this is cool? It’s disgusting these animals deserve better” litter the feed.

My favorite exchange is from these two commenters that are reading my thoughts and speaking my language, because that tiger handler woman is creepy as hell:

“Why is the handler woman so awkward?”

“Because she’s a backyard breeder and she’s probably using meth that’s why”

Hopefully Quavo will pull his stoned head out of his stoned ass and make the right decision to free “Cho” and give him a life he deserves in a sanctuary. If anyone can learn anything about life from Justin Bieber (God help us all) and his great monkey crisis of 2013, it’s that rich motherfuckers shouldn’t buy exotic animals as toys and pets. Take it from the commenters: that flex is whack.
