In Case You Missed It, The $500 Barbie Purse From A French Fashion House

No, this isn’t the ghost of Karl Lagerfeld having a laugh from the other side. French label Jacquemus needed to find some way to get press during Paris Fashion Week, so they told themselves what everyone’s one-night stand said at some point in life: good things come in small packages. The brand released a micro-handbag, the SmartCar of purses if you will, called the micro Le Chiquito. No, it can’t do anything but dangle from a finger or a peen, and, yes, it will likely be very expensive.

Time says people like Rihanna and Kim Kardashian love the regular Le Chiquito, which is a roomier four inches by 2.5 inches, and it can carry a few items. Practicality comes with a cost, as the bigger sister retails for $522. Fashion people aren’t exactly known for being Nobel Prize winners, so the tiny purse is following a trend of other little things like tiny sunglasses.

Part of me thinks the next thing will be a line of tiny dresses, but then I told myself, “That’s just silly, C.J. Nobody would ever try to put tiny clothes on their body.” Oh, self. How wrong you are!
