Daddy Spears Is Now Britney’s Sole Conservator

And then there was one. Britney Spears didn’t have the easiest 2008 (and not just because of that car ride Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan can’t stop blabbing about), and that ended up with her dad, Jamie Spears, and a lawyer, Andrew Wallet, in charge of just about everything in Britney’s day-to-day operations. Andrew has recently moved to resign from his post, leaving Jamie in charge.

The Blast got notice of Andrew leaving as co-conservator of Britney’s estate. Andrew’s court notice also makes it sound like there’s a lot happening in Casa de Spears:

“The conservatorship is engaged in numerous ongoing business activities requiring immediate attention and it therefore is in the best interest of the conservatee that the acceptance of Wallet’s resignation and the issuance of amended letters of conservatorship of the estate occur immediately and without delay…Substantial detriment, irreparable harm and immediate danger will result to the conservatee and her estate if the relief requested herein in not granted on an ex parte basis.”

I imagine the Spears empire is busy at work figuring out tough shit like payments to Kevin Federline and whether or not to re-up the contract with Britney’s shit-stirring boyfriend. Now, part of this could also be Britney’s figuring out how to stay in the good graces at the Park MGM without having to return that check she already cashed from her now-postponed residency.

Britney announced in January she was bailing on Vegas (and apparently live vocals) because Daddy Spears had ruptured his colon and nearly died. Jamie already had one surgery after it ruptured last November, and he’s basicaclly needed that one to heal so they can finish the job. The Blast is saying Jamie is going back for a second surgery and, while he’s feeling way better, this next surgery is expected to have a longer recovery time. Britney has been by his side the whole time, which is why she left the Park MGM stage to Lady Gaga and whatever that monster machine is. Ah, well. At least Britney can soothe Jamie with those live vocals her choreographers promised we were going to hear in her residency. “Please, God, no. Haven’t I suffered enough?”, asked Daddy Spears.
