Wendy Williams Is Finally Coming Back After Two Months Away From Her Show

Wendy Williams has been away from her show The Wendy Williams Show for basically two months now. But the messiness went on with a whole bunch of other hosts, including Nick Cannon. Welp, looks like Wendy really was nervous that all this time away was going to lead to her losing her show, because Page Six says that a date has been set for her triumphant return to tea spilling.

Wendy had a rough start to the year. After it was announced she was taking an extended hiatus, she was replaced by guest-host after guest-host who handled her highly un-difficult job with as much grace and elegance as anyone with a working brain could. Rumors were swirling about what was keeping Wendy away from her show. Was it her health, as her friends were worried? Was it the painkillers keeping her high and loopy? Was it the ghost of Whoopi Goldberg which seemed to follow her around? Her husband’s alleged secret love child? Regardless of the affliction, Wendy is ready to kick it to the curb and get back to work–AKA a fun pass-time that anyone would kill to get paid to do which can loosely be described as ‘work’.

It’s been announced that Wendy will be back with a new wig and a fresh attitude on Monday, March 4th. The production company, Debmar-Mercury, gave a statement about it:

“Wendy Williams is an incredible talent with the most unique voice in daytime… We can’t wait to welcome her back to her iconic purple chair on the set of her show … We so appreciate all of the guest hosts and panelists who filled in for Wendy during this time. These people are, and always will be, true family to the show. And we want to thank all of the loyal and supportive fans who have been with us for 10 years now.”

They really keep calling this purple chair iconic and I’m like, is it? Like close your eyes and think of the chair: would you know it was purple if someone didn’t tell you? I think not.

Wendy also gave her own separate statement where she thanked everyone who keeps her living in designer clothes and non-synthetic wigs:

“Salute to Debmar-Mercury for believing from the start and thanks to my staff for tirelessly holding it down for me.”

I’m glad to see that Wendy finally managed to expel the poltergeist of Whoopi Goldberg from haunting her soul long enough for her to get back to work. I would’ve hated to see her get fired and have to line up for free wigs at the wig kitchen.
